We will provide you with plenty of tourist information including our favourite suggestions for day trips that are easily reachable from La Tzoumaz, from spectacular gorge walks, cheese factories and roman festivals to rainy-day ideas such as underground lake tours. Highlights Chalet Par le Travers is a traditional chalet, set in beautiful isolation with spectacular mountain views.  The chalet has been partially-renovated in 2015 and comfortably furnished.  There are four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and dogs are welcome in the property. It's an ideal chalet for couples, groups and families seeking a peaceful mountain retreat with the option for plenty of action-packed activities on the doorstep. Please note there is an uphill footpath (95m long) to reach the chalet.  Bedrooms & Bathrooms Downstairs there are three bedrooms, each with two single beds and a sink. There are two bathrooms on this floor, one with shower, sink and WC, and the other with bath (and overhead shower), sink and WC. Upstairs on the main living floor is a fourth bedroom, also with two single beds. There is a guest WC on this floor. La Tzoumaz Chalet Par le Travers is equipped with a high chair and a folding travel cot (bedding not provided) suitable for children under 2 years old, and a second is available on demand on arrival.  Please note that in accordance with the manufacturer's safety instructions, additional mattresses are not provided with the cots.Equipment In the kitchen you will find all the basics: a fridge and an oven with hob. A kettle, microwave, toaster, electric filter coffee-machine, Nespresso coffee-machine plus fondue and raclette sets for a traditional Swiss evening in front of the log fire. A hairdryer, iron and portable outdoor barbecue are all available for you to use and there is a washing machine available for you to use. Relaxing Indoors you can choose to relax in the large living / dining area, watching the TV or the log fire as it crackles and burns. Outdoors, you can simply sit on the balcony and admire the beautiful panoramic views that face the chalet. On a blue-sky day, the view stretches 20km, up to the peaks of the Haut de Cry and the Mont Gond. In summer the air is filled with delightful birdsong and in winter the snowflakes drift silently by.Internet The Chalet Par le Travers is equipped with free high-speed WIFI for private use during your stay.Dogs We would be delighted to welcome your pets to the Chalet Par le Travers. Please note that in order to cover additional cleaning costs, pets are charged at a rate of CHF 50 (EUR 45) per stay.Parking At least one car is advisable in both summer and winter. There is a closed single garage and two further spaces in front of the garage, so that you can park up to 3 cars. The car park is located at the bottom of the footpath that climbs 95m up to the chalet. Snow tyres and/or chains are necessary in winter because of the frequent snowfalls. An additional parking area is available 150m from the garage. Please note This chalet is not recommended for everybody because of the access: in winter, the uphill footpath leading to the house will not be cleared in case of snow. It is also advisable to carry a torch in the evening in winter. Winter The chalet is situated on a steep part of the hill that overlooks a free ski-bus stop, so instead of going around, good skiers can ski down in the morning.  Otherwise, it is only a 100m walk along the flat road that leads from the parking places to the bus stop.  The free ski-bus takes you on the 2km ride through the resort of La Tzoumaz to the ski school, the telecabin and the supermarket. The modern Savoleyres telecabin lift takes you from La Tzoumaz to the top of the Savoleyres in less than 8 minutes, from where you can either enjoy the quiet slopes of La Tzoumaz or descend to the legendary slopes of Verbier in the vast 4 Valleys ski area. Summer In the peak summer season (from early July to late August), we provide you with free VIP pedestrian lift-passes, half-price mountain-bike daypasses and a range of other discounts. The telecabin link to Verbier operates daily at this time of year from 08:45 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:45, meaning that you can easily access the famous resort as a pedestrian, or accompanied by your bicycle or e-bike. For a small supplement you can even use a variety of mountain lifts to make your way up to Mont Fort at 3300m for the highest fondue in Europe and incredible mountain panoramas that include Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. In summer, the area turns into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with hundreds of kilometres of marked trails criss-crossing the mountains, awash with alpine flowers and a range of wildlife to spot. Visit the Maison de la Foret with its wildlife exhibitions and its Five Senses Nature Trail, and the starting point of many beautiful hikes. The Bisses are relatively flat footpaths that follow the water as it trickles around the mountainsides, where for centuries farmers and villagers channelled the streams for their own uses. They have been preserved and can now be an incredible way to spend a day or more on easy hikes with stunning views across the Rhone Valley or over to the Massif des Combins. We will provide you with plenty of tourist information including our favourite suggestions for day trips that are easily reachable from La Tzoumaz, from spectacular gorge walks, cheese factories and roman festivals to rainy-day ideas such as underground lake tours. There are rabbits, donkeys, goats, and there is also rock-climbing on the local crag in the background (contact us for equipment and instructors). The Maison de la Foret has a cafe area for drinks and snacks (check opening hours), wildlife exhibitions and its Five Senses Nature Trail with hands-on activities to borrow such as bird-whistling and learning to draw. Highlights This luxury five-bedroom, five-bathroom chalet with jacuzzi is a rare treat in La Tzoumaz – ski-in and ski-out access, and an easy walk to the town centre!  From the moment the automatic garage door opens to allow you into the snow-free underground parking, everything has been designed with skiers in mind:  the parking is linked first to the chalet level and then to the piste by a 70m shuttle cabin on rails that easily climbs the near-vertical mountainside, so that you don’t have to!  This is what makes Chalet La Couronne ski-in ski-out.  No more struggling onto a ski-bus with arms full of children’s skis and poles, and no need to walk a long way in your ski-boots.  There’s also no need to clear snow from your car in the mornings as you can just park it indoors and forget about it until it’s time to go home.  In fact, you really don’t need a car if you’re staying here in the winter.  Due to its elevated position, Chalet La Couronne benefits from fantastic views across the valley and to the mountains up to 20km away.  The large windows of the open living / dining area were specially designed to make the most of this ever-changing vista.Bedrooms & Bathrooms With its five bedrooms and five en-suite bathrooms, this chalet is ideal for up to 13 people.
