HISTORY
Set in 550 acres of mature parkland this palatial property takes its design influence from the original Straffan House which is now the hotel at world famous The K Club. Built in 1832 by Hugh Barton of the world famous Barton and Guestier Wines the original house was based on a magnificent chateau at Louveciennes not far from Versailles. This splendid contemporary mansion was meticulously constructed in 2005. The house combines the architecture of a bygone era with all of the comforts and convenience of elegant, contemporary living. Distinctly French in style, it bears all the hallmarks of a magnificent and elegant country retreat. The house is furnished to an exceptional standard and is home to many original artworks, including works by Sir William Orpen and JB Yeats amongst others. The House has a magnificent indoor pool and offers easy access to all the local top golf courses and of course to Dublin itself.

The 8 bedrooms are all ensuite and have been beautifully designed and decorated. The house has an indoor pool complete with ’swim up bar’, spa and gym, cinema, games room and a glass-enclosed, thermostatically controlled wine cellar. Only 30 minutes from Dublin, it is easy to reach.

With breakfast included in the price, additional catering will be organised for guests to suit their requirements from good country house food to gourmet, Michelin Star cuisine. ACTIVITIES
There are many activities that can be arranged on the estate including falconry, kayaking, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, archery and fishing on the River Liffey.
