Large glass doors open out onto the partly shaded terrace, which is furnished with a sofa and armchairs, so guests can relax, looking out over the garden. There are also 2 sun loungers for sunbathing in total privacy. The contemporary interior is furnished with two sofas and a flat-screen TV. Next to the French windows, there is a second dining table, which is separated from the modern kitchen by a granite breakfast bar. The kitchen is well-equipped, with a cooker hob, oven, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and fridge/freezer. Children will particularly enjoy the resort’s gardens, large shared swimming pool (additional fee) and a playground on the beach. Adults can relax on sun loungers by the pool whilst the children play in the water. The resort also has tennis and basketball courts (additional fee) as well as a bar and supermarket on site. There is plenty for visitors to do away from the coast, with many charming hill towns. Kruje (1 hour) is home to the 5th-century Kruje Castle, as well as Kruje Bazaar, which dates back to the 17th century. Here you can find authentic Albanian carpets, textiles and ceramics. There are also hiking routes in the surrounding mountains, which range from the easy to the challenging. Adults will also enjoy a tour of Duka Winery and Vineyard (15-minute drive), which includes wine tasting and a fine lunch. Tirana is a 45-minute drive and makes a great day trip. It is an eclectic mix of Ottoman, Soviet and Fascist architecture. The city is easy to explore on foot. Blloku is an exciting, young area, full of cafés and interesting boutiques. The main square – Skanderbeg Square is a must-see. The city’s markets offer a window into everyday life. The New Market, Pazari Ri offers a wide range of local produce.
