The best of past and present are combined in this historic Victorian home, within easy walking distance of the beach as well as dining and shopping in charming downtown Pacific Grove. Or you may just want to relax on the backyard deck, porch or balconies, and watch the world go by.
This 2-bedroom plus sleeping loft, 2.5-bath residence, exquisitely finished inside in updated Arts and Crafts fashion, blends vintage furnishings with sophisticated West Elm style. The pet-friendly home includes a fully fenced back yard. In addition to being within a few minutes’ walk of downtown Pacific Grove, the house is within walking distance of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, and is also just 10 minutes from the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach, and a half hour by car from the natural beauty of Big Sur.
The light-filled house contains photos and artwork reflecting Pacific Grove’s historic past, including a hand-painted tile mural in the kitchen that shows the home in its original ocean-side location.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted with complimentary wine and cheese, tickets for a wine tasting at Scheid Vineyards’ tasting room in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, spa robes and beach gear.
The first floor includes a living room, dining room and kitchen, flowing together to create an ideal space for relaxing and entertaining. Hardwood floors are found throughout, with a beautiful Tiffany-style light fixture in the dining area over a mid-century table that seats six. The living room provides an area for conversation or reading, and includes a 36-inch HDTV. An adjacent outside deck includes a gourmet gas grill, comfortable outdoor seating, and a fire pit table, a cozy place to gather for drinks or barbecuing.
The updated kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, including a gas range and a double oven, in addition to custom-made cabinetry and granite counter-tops. Down the hall is a convenient half-bath as well as a combination office and laundry room.
Upstairs, the master bedroom features two sets of French doors, each of which leads to balconies with bistro seating and ocean views, perfect spots to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The bedroom also offers a king bed that can be converted to two twins and sitting area, with comfortable places for reading or watching the 42-inch HDTV. An adjacent bath has two seashell-scalloped sinks, spacious vanity, custom tile work and a glass shower enclosure.
Down the hall is a bedroom with queen bed and antique armoire as well as a sleeping alcove with a day bed and pull-out trundle, which can be converted to either a king bed or two twins. A 42-inch HDTV are available in the alcove as well. Between the second bedroom and alcove is a bath with a tub-shower combination, custom tile work, and granite counter-top.
An attached single-car garage provides parking for one vehicle and ample storage for beach gear; additional parking is available on the street. Small, well-behaved pets may be brought with owner’s approval.
