For longer trips, driving is the most convenient way to reach nearby beaches, plantations, and scenic marshland trails.
Public parking is plentiful and free throughout most of the downtown area. Golf carts are a fun local favorite for short rides, while bike rentals offer a breezy way to explore the quiet streets and shaded live oaks. If you’re heading to Pawleys Island or Murrells Inlet, you’ll find it’s just a short, scenic drive along Highway 17.
