Hear the sound of birds singing and wind rustling through century-old olive trees as you relax on your stone terrace beside the swimming pool soaking up the natural surroundings of Trullo Libelli, only 1.5km from the heart of Ceglie Messapica.
With origins dating back to the mid-19th century, this rustic home has undergone an impressive restoration in recent years and now welcomes up to 8 guests to stay across its four bedrooms. Trullo Libelli is perfect for a small group of friends or a family wishing to experience authentic and simple life in Puglia with the benefit of a gorgeous private swimming pool, close to some of the region’s most visited destinations.
Every care has been taken when restoring this historic home – original features have been preserved where possible and materials have been sensitively chosen. Air-conditioned bedrooms are simple yet pretty, bath/shower rooms are modern and the sense of Apulian character is strong. We especially love the gorgeous little living-dining area and the archways leading to the open fireplace.
Embrace the traditional way of life as you enjoy meals together prepared in the charming kitchen or barbecues al-fresco on the terrace. Outside, experience the everchanging scenes of the season from spring flowers to autumn fruit and red-hued leaves from the many trees across the grounds.
You are just a short drive from Ceglie Messapica with its historic centre, Baroque architecture, narrow lanes, old houses and gastronomic gems. The town has gained quite a reputation for its food and wine – look out for homemade pasta and delicious biscuits, both local specialities.
Meanwhile, this is the perfect base for exploring further afield from the iconic trulli of Alberobello and the charm of Martina Franca to white-washed Ostuni, known as La Città Bianca, just a 15-minute drive from your delightful Puglian holiday home.
