Lake Como offers some of the most striking urban, landscape and architectural gems of the entire Italian peninsula. First among the many reasons why this lake is famous all over the world, the beauty of its landscapes: it is surrounded by mountains and houses picturesque fishing villages, beautiful villas, parks and paths. The best way to discover the beauty of the lake is by sailing its waters. Its characteristic inverted Y shape is given by the three branches that compose it: north Colico, south-east Lecco and south-west Como. The main urban center is Como, an elegant and romantic city that houses several villas, monuments and a very suggestive lakefront. However, there are many villages not to be missed: on the branch of Como stand Bellagio, "the pearl of the Lario", Cernobbio, Argegno, Tremezzo with its Villa Carlotta, Menaggio and the ancient village of Nesso characterized by romantic views. On the eastern shore of the lake, dominated by Lecco, it is worth visiting Varenna and Bellano with its characteristic Orrido. This destination is also perfect for lovers of trekking and outdoor walks, thanks to its many paths such as the Sentiero del Viandante (40 km) and the Greenway of Lake Como (10 km).
Excellent also the traditional cuisine of the lake, from fish to cheese to desserts. The perfect combination of lake and mountain can be appreciated on the tables of the many restaurants in the area.
The apartment is 1 hour and 40-minute drive from Orio al Serio Airport and 1 hour and 30-minute drive from Malpensa Airport.

About the area
Bellagio, often referred to as the "Pearl of Lake Como," is a picturesque town that epitomizes the allure of the Italian Lakes region. With its idyllic location at the junction of the lake's three branches, Bellagio is renowned for its stunning landscapes, elegant architecture, and serene atmosphere, making it a favorite among travelers seeking both relaxation and beauty.
The town's cobbled streets and stairways are lined with colorful buildings, chic boutiques, and quaint cafes, inviting leisurely strolls and opportunities to soak in the local culture. The lakeside promenade offers breathtaking views of the water and surrounding mountains, and is the perfect spot for an evening passeggiata.
One of Bellagio's most famous attractions is the Villa Melzi, a neoclassical masterpiece set within exquisite gardens that bloom with azaleas and rhododendrons in the spring. The villa's museum and botanical gardens are open to the public, providing a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the Lombard aristocracy.
Another must-visit is the grand Villa Serbelloni, which sits atop the hill overlooking the town. Now owned by the Rockefeller Foundation, the villa's park is open for guided tours, offering visitors the chance to explore its lush gardens and enjoy panoramic views of Lake Como.
For those interested in local craftsmanship, Bellagio is known for its fine silk products and artisan shops where you can find handcrafted leather goods and intricate woodwork. The town's small but charming historical center, with its Romanesque church and stone buildings, tells the story of Bellagio's ancient roots.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do in and around Bellagio. The lake itself is a playground for water sports, from sailing and windsurfing to kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. The surrounding hills offer hiking and cycling paths with scenic vistas at every turn.
Gastronomy is another highlight of Bellagio, with restaurants serving delicious Lombard cuisine, fresh lake fish, and regional wines. Dining al fresco by the lake as the sun sets is an experience not to be missed.
In essence, Bellagio is a destination that offers a harmonious blend of natural beauty, historical richness, and Italian charm. It's a place where one can indulge in the leisurely pace of lake life, immerse in the elegance of bygone eras, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
