An individually designed, two-bedroom, 2 bathroom, detached modern holiday home with a traditional theme, that enjoys a fabulous rural outlook to the rear. It is located on the edge of the desirable village of Wissett, near Halesworth.
2 well-behaved dogs are welcome.
The cottage was completed in 2007 to a very high specification and offers a blend of flexible open-plan living, yet has a cosy cottage feel. The cottage is light and spacious throughout. You walk into the entrance hall / kitchen / dining area and wet room on the right with French doors leading out to the rear. This area links wonderfully well with the sitting room to the left where there is a brick fireplace with an eco wood burner, with doors leading out to the back. The kitchen leads into a separate utility, with an indoor clothes airer / boot room with its own entrance (at the front of the cottage).
The ground floor is marble and engineered oak, with underfloor heating throughout. There are radiators on the first floor.
The oak staircase leads to a spacious first-floor landing area where you can enjoy the views and the horses frolicking in the fields.
There are 2 double bedrooms and a shared family bathroom. By default, the beds will be made up as 1 x double beds and 2 x single beds. Both bedrooms contain zip and link beds, so the house can also be made up as 4 x singles (2ft.6) or 2 x doubles (kingsize). Please let us know at the point of booking if you require any other bed configurations than the default.
Outside there is a generous shingled parking area large enough for 2 cars. The cottage has a south-facing garden to the rear that overlooks the gently undulating countryside beyond, and neighbouring paddocks and pastureland. Although the cottage is dog friendly, the garden is not enclosed, so is not secure for dogs off lead. There is a teak table and 4 chairs.
Should you wish to work whilst staying at the cottage, there is super fast wifi which can handle multiple devices at the same time.
The cottage is just a 10-minute drive from a number of popular wedding venues and is therefore equipped with a steam iron and ironing board, a full-length mirror and generous clothes hanging space.

About the area
Saxmundham, a small market town in the county of Suffolk, England, is a charming destination that offers visitors a quintessentially English experience. Nestled within the scenic countryside, it serves as an ideal base for exploring the surrounding areas, including the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The town itself boasts a rich history, with its market having been established in the 13th century. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll down the High Street, lined with independent shops, cozy cafes, and traditional pubs, where they can sample local ales and Suffolk specialties.
For those interested in cultural heritage, Saxmundham is close to some of Suffolk's most historic sites. The nearby Leiston Abbey, dating back to the 14th century, offers a glimpse into the region's monastic past, while the 12th-century Framlingham Castle, just a short drive away, is a magnificent example of a medieval fortress.
Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the town's proximity to RSPB Minsmere, a renowned nature reserve that provides a haven for a diverse range of bird species, as well as other wildlife. The reserve's trails and hides make it an excellent spot for birdwatching and photography.
Saxmundham is also a gateway to the Suffolk Heritage Coast, where visitors can explore charming seaside towns such as Aldeburgh, known for its pebble beach, fresh seafood, and cultural events like the Aldeburgh Festival. The picturesque village of Thorpeness, with its mock-Tudor buildings and the whimsical House in the Clouds, is another nearby attraction that captivates visitors.
For those seeking a more active holiday, the surrounding countryside offers ample opportunities for cycling, hiking, and horseback riding, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in the tranquil beauty of the Suffolk landscape.
In addition, Saxmundham's location on the East Suffolk Line makes it easily accessible by train, inviting day-trippers and those looking to explore the wider region. With its blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, Saxmundham is a delightful destination that promises a peaceful and enriching experience for all who visit.
