Known as the White City, Ostuni is one of Puglia’s most recognisable hilltop towns, with whitewashed buildings, narrow lanes, stone stairways and lively piazzas gathered beneath its historic cathedral. Its old town is a lovely place to spend an afternoon browsing independent shops, stopping for an aperitivo or dining in a traditional trattoria.The surrounding countryside is dotted with ancient olive trees, dry-stone walls and characterful towns, including Ceglie Messapica, which is particularly celebrated for its food culture. Guests can also reach the Adriatic coast with ease, with the beaches around Villanova approximately 12km away. Further along the coast, the protected Torre Guaceto nature reserve offers unspoilt shoreline, walking routes and clear waters.Ostuni provides the nearest restaurants, bars, shops and supermarket.
