Groups with children will adore this rustic and rather quirky country villa in the Dordogne. There is plenty of outdoor space and the swimming pool is in an enclosed courtyard. Three of the four bedrooms are set up family style, with a both a double and a twin bed. You’ll be charmed by the original details - worn wooden beams overhead, antique fireplace facades, and gorgeous stone terrace.This family villa’s outdoor kitchen is a boon if you venture to one of the local markets! Sunday is market day in the nearest village, Bourdeilles (4 km), where you’ll find fine cheese, local produce, and foie gras. Farther south is Périgueux (20 km), where there’s a larger market and a bustling town.This region is also an educational opportunity. Périgueux is home to the Perigord Museum of Art and Archeology, and Gallo-Roman ruins. Another nearby city worth a visit is Brantôme (7 km), where the Dronne river runs beside stunning gardens and architecture - rent a canoe and paddle past the Benedictine Abbey, chateaux, and fortresses nearly 800 years old. From this villa, the Dordogne’s history is at your doorstep.

Set in the peaceful countryside of the Dordogne, the villa enjoys a wonderful location just 4km from the picturesque village of Bourdeilles, one of the region’s most charming destinations. Bourdeilles is famed for its impressive medieval fortress and Renaissance château, as well as its local shops, restaurants and lively markets. The surrounding countryside offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, including tennis, horse riding and canoeing along the River Dronne.
Just 7km away lies Brantôme, often referred to as the “Venice of the Dordogne” thanks to the river that winds around the town. Here you can explore the beautiful Benedictine abbey, enjoy riverside cafés, or take boat and canoe trips through the scenic surroundings.
The historic city of Périgueux, around 24km away, offers excellent shopping, cultural attractions and renowned golf courses. Across the region, visitors can also enjoy cycling, fishing, lakeside swimming, and exploring traditional markets in nearby villages. With its mix of natural beauty, historic towns and outdoor adventures, this area of the Dordogne provides the perfect base for discovering the rich culture and landscapes of southwestern France.

Dordogne, France is a captivating destination, offering a rich blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. It's known for its picturesque landscapes filled with medieval castles, prehistoric cave art replicas, and charming villages.
For history enthusiasts, the region's prehistoric sites are a must-visit. While the original Lascaux Cave is closed to the public to preserve its Paleolithic cave paintings, an exact replica called Lascaux IV was opened in 2016 for visitors to experience. Other notable sites include the National Museum of Prehistory and the prehistoric dwellings at Roque Saint-Christophe.
