If a picture is worth a thousand words, then what must this Wine Estate be worth? In this case, it’s worth a stay. Immortalized in the taste of its most celebrated wines, the Villa Petra, part of the winery Villa Santo Stefano is breath-taking. Lush greenery, starry nights, and rugged mountains will be your muse as you enjoy your Tuscan countryside vacation. With an abundance of space, this four-bedroom luxury farmhouse villa is perfect for a special outdoor experience. Although updated to the highest standards of modern luxury, Villa Petra manages to keep its authentic old-world charm completely intact, creating a truly unique setting for your next luxury retreats vacation.
There’s always a new place to enjoy your morning espresso and watch the sun come up. Upon arrival, shuttered windows, stone walls, and terracotta-tiled roofs immediately convey the key trademarks of Italian architecture.
Inside, there’s formal dining for ten. Outside, there are several alfresco dining and relaxing corners set on the terrace, sheltered by gorgeous tree-top foliage and wisteria flowers, as well as a refreshing swimming pool (20 x 8 mt) just beyond the house. Sleeping arrangements are split among three ensuite bedrooms plus another twin bed room.
Pieve Santo Stefano is an idyllic antique village set amongst the vineyards at just 9 kms from Lucca old town where at its peak, Villa Santo Stefano, the winery that hosts Villa Petra is located.
Although less than a bunch of people live in this village, it’s quite popular among international expats, hi-so, wine connoisseurs and international aristocracy. The closest highway junctions it is just 10 kilometres from home. Travel another 20 mins to reach the Versilia beaches, Forte dei Marmi and Pietrasanta, or drive another 30 mins to reach Florence and slightly more to reach Siena or Cinque Terre. And you can visit Lucca, rich with historical sites, museums, art galleries, cafes, and fine Tuscan cuisine.
COMPOSITION
Main Villa (main farmhouse villa located close to the building that it is the winery’s tasting salon and access to underground cellars).
- Ground Floor: 3 ensuite bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, one twin bedroom and bathroom. Please note that the twin bedroom and a double bedroom on this floor don’t have air-conditioning, even if they are always quite cool also in the summer time.
- First floor (pool level): a chef-grade kitchen, grand dining room, two living rooms. Access through French windows in the living area to the back garden with pool.
The back garden of the villa and the pool are private an inaccessible by workers of the winery while the front garden is connected with the whole estate.
Hayloft (Ground floor apartment with access from the front garden)
- Ground Floor: Luxury living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, master bedroom with ensuite luxury bathroom.
This building is located next to the main villa and also hosts the apartment of the manager of the winery (a lovely and charming lady that will enchant you with her experience and passion for Lucca and wine), two guests apartments for the use of the owners and their guests, the shared laundry rooms.
NOTES: the fireplaces of the house are not usable. The big barbecue is gas operated.
