Elk Meadows Escape
A paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers, and anyone in need of a peaceful escape. Enjoy a wilderness experience with the comfort of modern amenities in an area that’s called Elk Meadows for a reason. This mountain cabin lies among the elk and evergreens, where you’ll find calm and create lasting memories. The cabin features custom woodwork and cabinetry throughout, and a huge covered deck to enjoy your morning coffee, soak up the summer sun, view the vibrant vine maples in autumn, and watch the snowflakes fall in winter. The modern cook’s kitchen is equipped with quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances including a dual fuel double oven. Other features include a 4K High Def LCD LED TV and Blue Ray player (for movies and CDs) and a Bluetooth receiver and speakers to play music right from your phone. The open floor plan is great for gatherings and offers amazing natural light. Each floor features its own bedroom and bath for privacy and convenience.
Without ever leaving Elk Meadows, head outside to watch local wildlife, take a 5-minute walk to the Yakima River (a blue ribbon trophy trout stream) for kayaking, rafting and fly fishing, and ride mountain bikes in summer. Expand your range for swimming, paddle boarding, and boating at Lake Cle Elum, hike hundreds of trails at Salmon la Sac, the Teanaway Valley and Hex Mountain, bike paved trails at Suncadia or mountain bike the Rat Pack or Iron Horse Trail. Go horseback riding or feel some serious horsepower dirt biking and ATVing on nearby trails.
Come winter, snowshoe right out the front door and make snow angels in the yard, or venture out for cross-country skiing at Cabin Creek, tubing, downhill skiing or snowboarding at one of Snoqualmie’s 4 ski resorts, ice skating at Suncadia’s outdoor rink, or arrange a holiday sleigh ride. Snowmobile rentals and tours are available nearby at the Last Resort on Lake Cle Elum.
Visit the historic coal mining town of Roslyn where the hit TV series Northern Exposure was filmed (and parts of the set are still up today). Stroll the Sunday Farmer’s market in Roslyn from June till September. Grab a beer and a show at the famous Brick Tavern (Washington’s oldest continually operating saloon). Find a good read at Basecamp Books & Café, get a pint at Roslyn Brewing, and grab a bite at Village Pizza or Roslyn Mexican Grill. See a flick at the historic Roslyn Theater. Visit Swiftwater Cellars for a flight or indulge in a spa treatment at Glade Spring Spa. For a fine cup of joe, don’t miss Pioneer Coffee in Cle Elum.
