Bear Hollow Cabin
This rustic log cabin features a gas fireplace in a wooded locale.
Located three miles from Purgatory Mountain, the home is close to both the slopes and Electra Lake, and offers privacy and relaxation. Views of the Hermosa Cliffs greet you from the front balcony, while the enormous back deck is surrounded by pines.
The interior of the home is classic log-cabin style. Cozy up on the couches to watch cable TV, or to hear the fire crackle in the woodburning stove. Free WiFi access is also provided if you need to catch up on social media.
The kitchen is fully equipped with the essentials to create a home-cooked meal, and a dining table with fold-out leafs provides a space for dinner as a group. For warmer months, a gas grill is available on the wraparound deck for your use. The whole family can easily gather on the deck to take in the surrounding alpine scene, then unwind in the hot tub under the timber pergola.
When evening falls, do some stargazing from the deck or lounge inside. If your group can’t agree on what to watch, make good use of the second living room, located downstairs, that offers another TV and a gas stove for keeping warm.
This three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home sleeps up to eight. Two bedrooms each have a queen bed, while the third bedroom has two twins. There is a double sofabed in the living room if extra sleeping space is needed. The home also has a private washer/dryer for convenience.
Multiple lakes are nearby to the home for boating and fishing in summer. Electra Lake is a great place to hike, as is the area just outside the door of the home. Vallecito Lake offers ATV and snowmobile rentals. Visit Durango town for shopping and dining, or Purgatory Resort for the full spectrum of winter activities - skiing, snowboarding, snowbiking, cross-country, and dog sledding are all possible. Summer brings the Music in the Mountains classical music festival to Purgatory, while winter brings Demo Days and holiday festivals.
Come enjoy all Durango has to offer in this classic Rocky Mountain log cabin home!
