Designed in 1890 by Hyman Witcover, the architect behind Savannah’s iconic gold-domed City Hall, The Simon is one of the most beautifully preserved Queen Anne Revival homes in the Historic District. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and built for Simon P. Kehoe, son of beloved iron works founder William Kehoe, the estate has been thoughtfully restored to honor every original detail while welcoming up to twelve guests in the kind of style that Savannah does better than anywhere.
Wraparound porch. Formal dining for ten. Original tiger oak mantles with ornately carved faces. Leaded glass windows that throw rainbow prisms across the parlor on sunny afternoons. The Simon is the rare vacation rental that actually lives up to its photographs, and then some.
The location alone would be enough. Just off Lafayette Square in the heart of Savannah’s Historic District, the city’s best addresses are practically at the front door: the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the Hamilton-Turner House, and the Andrew Low House are steps away. Pinkie Masters, McDonough’s, and Hitch are around the corner. Walk a few squares south and you’ll find Forsyth Park, a weekly farmer’s market, and great coffee. Less than half a mile away: the SCAD campus, Savannah Theatre, the Davenport House Museum, the Owens-Thomas House, and Leopold’s Ice Cream.
Inside, the sun-filled parlor overlooks Harris Street and the wraparound front porch, anchored by the home’s architectural crown jewel — an original tiger oak mantle with ornate columns and intricately carved faces. A Sonos system keeps the atmosphere going throughout. The fully equipped kitchen comes stocked with stainless steel appliances, high-end cookware, and a cocktail and coffee bar built for slow mornings and long evenings alike. When it’s time to gather, the choices are generous: the in-kitchen table, an intimate breakfast nook, a formal dining room that seats ten, or the porch — which, after one coffee out there, becomes the obvious answer every time.
All five bedrooms are open and airy, with high ceilings, tall windows, and the kind of quiet that only comes from thick historic walls. The first-floor primary offers a king bed, an en-suite bath with walk-in shower, and private access to the side porch. Upstairs, the second bedroom tucks a king bed into a signature Queen Anne bay window alongside an original fireplace and private dressing nook. The third has another king, an original fireplace, and beautiful leaded glass. The fourth is cozier in scale, a queen bed and a colorful original fireplace. The second-floor primary features a king bed, an en-suite bath, and a view of the Cathedral spire, with an adjacent bonus den fitted with a queen sleeper sofa and desk for those who need a little more room. Two full baths serve the first floor; two full baths serve the second. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, YouTube TV, Smart flat-screen TVs in every bedroom, a washer and dryer, and Nu-Calgon iWave air purifiers are all included.
Some guests never make it past the wraparound porch. Harris Street below, live oaks overhead, Savannah at its most unhurried. Honestly, we understand.

About the area
Savannah, Georgia, is a delightful Southern city that provides a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. It is renowned for its beautifully preserved antebellum architecture and historic districts, making it a haven for those with an interest in history. The Historic District of the city is one of the largest in the U.S., characterized by cobblestone streets adorned with oak trees draped in moss and magnificent historic residences.
The city's River Street was once the world's bustling hub for cotton exports. Today, it has transformed into a lively waterfront area brimming with shops, galleries, and restaurants situated in former cotton warehouses. Here visitors can take pleasure in breathtaking views of the Savannah River while indulging in local cuisine or shopping for distinctive souvenirs.
The cultural offerings of Savannah are equally captivating. The Telfair Museums comprise three separate sites: the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences - one of the first public museums in the South; Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters; and Jepson Center - a contemporary art center. Collectively they provide an enriching journey through art and history.
For those who love nature, Savannah's beautiful parks and squares will not disappoint. Forsyth Park is particularly popular due to its iconic fountain while Bonaventure Cemetery offers a hauntingly beautiful landscape filled with sculptures and Victorian funerary art.
Savannah also provides several beach options for visitors to enjoy. Tybee Island is just a short drive from downtown Savannah offering sandy beaches ideal for sunbathing or swimming along with a historic lighthouse that offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
For food enthusiasts, exploring Savannah's culinary scene will be an adventure as it includes everything from traditional Southern dishes to fresh seafood to innovative farm-to-table dining experiences.
In summary, Savannah presents an engaging combination of historical allure, cultural richness, natural beauty and culinary delights making it an attractive destination for all kinds of travelers.
