Sunset Chalet
Tucked away in the peaceful woods of Tabernash, an easy 10-mile drive from Winter Park, Sunset Chalet is the quintessential home for your next Rocky Mountain retreat. Handcrafted by its owners, this home is full of love and care that were taken with every detail. With ample room to spread out and a great location for your all-seasons mountain adventures, your family and friends will want to come back year after year.
The main level of the house was designed for gathering, offering an open layout where you can easily recap the day’s adventures. The kitchen is fully furnished with everything you might need to make your favorite meals, and it opens up to a dining table. There’s also ample seating at the breakfast bar. Make your way into the living room with a floor-to-ceiling wood-burning fireplace, comfortable leather furniture, access to the sunny patio, and board games to entertain you on rainy days. There’s also another covered patio where you can fire up the grill when the sun is shining. The main level hosts two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed and cozy furnishings; the two rooms share a full bathroom.
Upstairs, there is another plush sitting area where you can catch up on your reading or cozy up for a movie on the large Smart TV. Rest peacefully in the primary bedroom with a king-size, custom-log canopy bed and an en suite bathroom. The other two bedrooms on this level share a half-bathroom and are perfect for the young (or young at heart)! The bunk room has a twin-over-full bunk bed and a twin-over-twin bunk bed. The second “kids’ room” has a queen-size bed and a lofted twin bed that’s ideal for a child. Below the loft is the “Starfish Cafe” play zone, adorned with baby dolls, a play kitchen set, and more for hours of entertainment. Each of these rooms also has a custom built-in loft for the youngsters.
The lower level is the entry to the home, offering ample space for everyone’s hiking boots or ski gear. This level provides another fantastic space to gather the gang. Compete in a friendly game of Ping-Pong or grab a movie from the DVD library and get comfortable in the TV room. This level also rounds out the last two bedrooms; a king-size bed and full bathroom.
To top off this exquisite home, you’ll enjoy the convenience of a two-car garage, a convenient washer/dryer, and a boot/mitten dryer in the laundry room. And the outside is just as cool as the inside - there’s a tree fort (please use at your own risk), a firepit, a small playhouse, and two swings fashioned out of lift chairs.
Tabernash offers a great location conveniently situated between Granby and Fraser/Winter Park. Sunset Chalet is about three miles from Devil’s Thumb Ranch, where you’ll find restaurants, cross country skiing, a world-class spa, horseback riding, fly fishing, and much more (be sure to check for any local restrictions).
