This charming Pacific Grove home promises smooth sailing for a memorable vacation, with the beach just two blocks away, and décor that includes lighthouses, ships, and the history of the Monterey Bay.
With two bedrooms on the ground floor and a master bedroom suite on the second floor Seashore Retreat is perfect for a family or for couples traveling together to enjoy.
Located on a quiet one-way street within walking distance of the beach and downtown Pacific Grove’s restaurants, shops and movie theater, the 3-bedroom, 3-bath house is also just a 5-minute car ride away from the Monterey Bay Aquarium and historic Cannery Row, about 8 minutes to downtown Monterey, and 15 to 20 minutes by car to Carmel and Pebble Beach.
The 2,100-square-foot Craftsman-style house has a tiled entryway opening into a great room that includes a living room, dining room and kitchen, with bedrooms on either side. The living room promises cozy evenings curled up on the beige sectional sofa and chaise in front of the electric fireplace and 38-inch flat screen HDTV.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted with complementary wine and cheese, tickets for a wine tasting at Scheid Vineyards’ tasting room in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, spa robes and beach gear.
Bar stools line one side of the granite countertop in the kitchen, convenient for breakfast, lunch or snacks, and the wooden dining room table seats six. The kitchen, with new stainless steel appliances and stone tile back splash, has a gas range and oven as well as both microwave and convection ovens, making family meals a snap. An adjacent laundry room includes a washer and dryer.
A staircase leads to the second floor suite, where a spacious master bedroom has its own balcony with outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or a late night glass of wine while looking out at Monterey Bay. A king-sized brass bed with a blue and white bedspread, 36-inch flat screen HDTV and two adjacent upholstered chairs highlight the bedroom. A huge walk-in closet on the second floor has room for golf bags or other gear, and the bathroom includes a luxurious tub with Jacuzzi whirlpool jets and separate custom tiled shower with sunburst shower head. Two sinks with brushed nickel hardware are surrounded by a granite counter top.
The first bedroom on the ground floor, highlighted with red, white and blue accents, has a queen bed and 28-inch flat screen HDTV. An adjoining bathroom with a shower tub combo is adorned with custom tile in shades of white and brown, and brushed nickel fixtures and a granite counter top surround the sink. Another door makes this bathroom accessible from the living room.
In the second ground floor bedroom, also with adjoining bathroom with shower, two single beds that can be made up as a king with foam topper and a queen futon that sleeps 1-2 children offer flexible sleeping options.
Doors from the second bedroom and the living room lead out onto a large outdoor deck, fenced for privacy and perfect for barbecuing on the gas grill, letting the kids play, or enjoying a cool drink. A unique feature is a patio table that is set into a large oak tree.
Cars can be parked in a driveway behind the house as well as a one-car garage, and parking is also available on the street.
