The house sits up on the hill above Stevenson, and the deck runs the full width of the back with the Gorge in front of you and mountains on both sides. Most evenings it puts on a show.
Inside is one big shared space: a living room you can see the view from, and glass doors that open onto the deck. The kitchen has island seating and a bench-seat dining nook, with a stove, oven and dishwasher for meals at home.
Three bedrooms sleep six. The primary has a queen and an ensuite with a walk-in shower. The second has a queen. The third has two twins, which works well for kids. There’s a second full bath with a tub, a crib available by advance arrangement, and a washer and dryer downstairs for muddy-trail days. AC does not reach every bedroom equally.
Outside there’s a fenced grassy backyard, and the driveway looks straight down the Gorge.
The whole house is yours. No shared spaces. Exterior stairs lead to the main entrance.
🔑 Keyless entry with a smart lock, so you can arrive on your own schedule
🧺 Washer and dryer downstairs
📶 Wireless internet throughout
🌄 Deck across the back of the house, plus a fenced grassy backyard
🚗 The driveway holds two cars, snug, and a third can go on the street. The owners ask that the street not be used for parking after 10 PM. The garage is for gear and equipment storage, not parking.
Settle in and make yourself at home. If anything comes up, we’re a quick message away.
🚗 Driving — The home is in Stevenson, Washington, in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, east of Portland. From Portland, take I-84 E to Cascade Locks and cross the Bridge of the Gods to WA-14, or follow WA-14 E the whole way — then use live navigation to the house. Free parking at the home.
🚶 Walking — Downtown Stevenson’s shops, restaurants, and the Columbia River waterfront are a short walk or quick drive away.
🥾 Exploring — A car is the best way to enjoy the Gorge — waterfalls, hikes, and viewpoints are all within a short drive.
✈️ Airport — Plan your drive to Portland International Airport (PDX) around current traffic.
🚗 Parking
The driveway holds two cars and it’s a tight fit. A third can park on the street, though not after 10 PM. The garage is for gear storage, not parking.
❄️ Winter
The driveway, the walkways and the area by the front door get slick and steep in cold weather. Take it slowly, and use the side entrance west of the garage when it’s icy.
🚪 The balcony doors
Gorge wind can pull the French doors out of your hand and damage the door or the wall, so hold on firmly on the way in and out.
🧊 The fridge and freezer
The doors don’t seal on their own. Give each one a deliberate push and check it caught.
🗑️ Trash
Bins are in the alcove right of the garage door. Pickup is Tuesday at 6 AM, so set them out Monday night with the lids closed. Stevenson has no recycling pickup.

About the area
Stevenson is a small river town in the middle of the Columbia River Gorge, east of Portland, and the house sits on the hill just above it.
Downtown is a few minutes down the road: Walking Man Brewery is the local gathering place; Clark and Lewie's and Big River Grill are the reliable dinners, Isadore's Kitchen in Carson is an option for breakfast. A&J Market on SW 2nd is genuinely well stocked if you'd rather cook.
Bob's Beach is down the hill for river access. Skamania Lodge has ziplines, a challenge course, axe throwing, putting and disc golf. The Bridge of the Gods is nearby, where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses between Washington and Oregon, and Bonneville Dam and its fish hatchery are close enough for an easy morning. Waterfalls, hikes and scenic drives are in every direction.
