Welcome to “Rockridge Ryokan”, our thoughtfully designed Oakland one-bedroom flat, overlooking a beautiful Japanese garden with peekaboo views of the Bay. With a blend of mid-century modern decor and Japanese-inspired aesthetics, the space is designed for those who appreciate attention to detail. Neutral tones and unique decor elements create a warm and inviting atmosphere. While the home offers a peaceful view, please note that a family lives upstairs, so there may be occasional noise.
The main living area is open concept, with a spacious layout that flows naturally from the kitchen to the lounge area. The sofa folds out into a comfortable, foam tatami-style queen mattress. In the living room, a flat screen smart TV with adjustable arms makes it easy to enjoy from any angle. The master bedroom features a hotel-grade California king-size bed and an expansive walk-in closet. A dedicated workspace in the bedroom is perfect for remote work. The table easily converts into a standing desk, offering flexibility and comfort throughout your day.
The en suite bathroom can only be accessed through the master bedroom and features radiant heated floors, a luxurious deep soaking tub, and a separate shower. The Clarino quartz countertops and soothing neutral tones add a spa-like finish reminiscent of a Japanese onsen—serene, minimal, and grounded in natural beauty. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances—including a dishwasher—and stocked with cooking essentials to prepare a great meal. Coffee lovers will find everything they need to brew the perfect cup, including a V60 pour-over setup, a classic French press, and a Bonavita drip coffee maker—each offering a different experience to suit your morning ritual. We’ve also stocked the kitchen with a Fellow Stagg EKG gooseneck kettle and a Fellow Ode burr coffee grinder to ensure precision and freshness in every brew.
Outdoor Areas:
Enjoy morning coffee or afternoon reading in the serene garden, surrounded by greenery and thoughtfully designed landscaping. The garden offers both shade and sunlight, and is also a lovely space to work outdoors.
The flat has a private entrance accessible by one full flight of stairs. There’s an additional short stairway that leads down into the serene Japanese garden.
