About the area
Ingram, Texas, may not be as widely recognized as some of the Lone Star State's larger cities, but it offers a charming and authentic slice of Hill Country life that can be a delightful surprise for travelers. This small town, nestled along the banks of the Guadalupe River, is a haven for those seeking a peaceful retreat with a touch of artistic flair and outdoor adventure.
One of Ingram's most notable attractions is the Stonehenge II replica, which provides a whimsical and photogenic point of interest. This impressive art installation, accompanied by Easter Island moai replicas, offers a taste of ancient mystery set against the backdrop of Texas's rugged beauty.
The town is also a gateway to the Hill Country Arts Foundation, an organization that supports and promotes the arts within the community. Here, visitors can explore galleries, watch theatrical performances in the outdoor Smith-Ritch Point Theatre, and even participate in art classes and workshops.
For outdoor enthusiasts, Ingram's location on the Guadalupe River is ideal for activities such as kayaking, fishing, and swimming. The river's clear waters and scenic surroundings make it a popular spot for families and nature lovers alike. Nearby, the Kerr Wildlife Management Area provides opportunities for hiking and wildlife viewing, offering a glimpse into the region's diverse ecosystems.
Ingram is also a stone's throw away from Kerrville, a larger town with additional attractions, including the Museum of Western Art, which celebrates the heritage of the American West through art and artifacts.
