Many come to Croatia for its spellbinding beauty and fairy tale prettiness, and although many areas are famed for their influx of tourists (you may have HBO series Game of Thrones to thank for that!), there are still vast areas of unspoilt prettiness prepared to transport you back to a simpler, slower time, a place where you can forget the modern world exists at all if you wish. There is much nearby to explore including the small village of Ika, renowned for its fishing and shipbuilding past. There are a great number of nearby beaches, including Ika Beach. It has pebbles but the water is gentle, calm and clear. You can also breathe in that easy Adriatic air. Here you’ll find all that you might expect from a historic Croatian village; taverns raucous in their own way, restaurants serving up elegant seafood dishes (naturally it’s the speciality of the area) thanks to the climate, conditions and proximity to the water.
