Inside Your Cabin Retreat
Step inside Oasis on the River and experience a warm, inviting space featuring beautiful hardwood floors throughout and a thoughtfully designed layout that’s perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure.
The heart of the home brings everything together with comfortable seating, a TV, a wooden dining table with seating for four, and a fully equipped kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances. The open layout makes it easy to spend time together, whether you’re preparing a meal, sharing stories from the day’s adventures, or making memories with family and friends. For added convenience, the cabin also includes a washer and dryer, making it easy to refresh clothes after a day of exploring or simply enjoy the comforts of home during your stay.
Rest & Recharge
The downstairs master bedroom features a beautiful wooden king-size bed and offers the added convenience of private access to the covered back patio, allowing you to step outside and enjoy the wooded surroundings right from your room. Also located on the main level is the full bathroom, featuring a beautifully designed walk-in shower.
As you make your way upstairs, you’ll be greeted by a unique ladder-style staircase that adds to the cabin’s distinctive A-frame character. While the staircase is steeper than a traditional set of stairs, its creative design is part of the charm that makes Oasis on the River such a special place to stay. Upstairs, you’ll find a private queen bedroom along with a separate loft sitting area that provides a cozy space to read, play games, or simply relax. The loft creates the perfect hangout space for kids or anyone looking for a quiet place to unwind.
The living room also features a comfortable queen-size pull-out sofa, allowing the cabin to comfortably accommodate up to six guests.
Outdoor Living
Step outside and discover the outdoor retreat that makes Oasis on the River truly special. The oversized covered back patio is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, gather for meals fresh off the grill, or simply relax while taking in the peaceful surroundings. Spend your evenings soaking in the hot tub, catching your favorite show or game on the outdoor TV, challenging family and friends to a game of cornhole, or gathering around the fire pit to roast s’mores and enjoy time together beneath the stars.
Nature at Your Doorstep
Backing directly up to the National Forest, Oasis on the River offers a peaceful escape where the beauty of nature is right outside your door. The property also features a natural spring, adding to the character and charm of this unique setting.
Ideally located along the Upper Mountain Fork River, this property offers convenient access to one of the area’s most beautiful natural features. With convenient kayak access nearby, guests can easily enjoy the beauty and recreation of the river throughout their stay. Two kayaks are included in your stay and available for guest use.
Guests are welcome to explore the property in search of arrowheads and enjoy discovering pieces of the area’s history. During the initial clearing of the cabin site, one member of the crew discovered at least eight arrowheads, making this a truly special place for those who enjoy exploring and connecting with the area’s history. If you happen to find one during your stay, we’d love to hear about your discovery! Please let us know and leave it at the cabin so these special pieces of history can be shared with a local archaeologist to help preserve them.
With so much natural beauty surrounding the cabin, you can slow down, reconnect with those around you, and enjoy the quiet moments that make a getaway here so special.

About the area
Muse, Oklahoma, may not be as widely recognized as some of the world's major travel destinations, but for those seeking a serene escape into nature, it offers a tranquil retreat. Nestled in the heart of the Ouachita National Forest, Muse provides a gateway to some of the most picturesque landscapes in the region.
The area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding along well-maintained trails that meander through the forest. The Ouachita Mountains offer a stunning backdrop, with their rolling hills and lush greenery, making it a perfect spot for photography or simply soaking in the beauty of nature.
For those interested in water activities, the nearby rivers and lakes are ideal for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. The clear mountain streams are home to a variety of fish species, providing a peaceful setting for anglers to cast their lines. The serenity of the waterways, coupled with the surrounding natural beauty, makes for a truly relaxing experience.
Birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts will find Muse and its surroundings to be a rich habitat for many species. The dense forests and clearings are home to an array of birds, deer, and other wildlife, offering chances for sightings and the soothing sounds of nature.
While Muse itself is a small community, its proximity to other attractions in southeastern Oklahoma adds to its appeal. Visitors can take day trips to explore the Talimena Scenic Drive, which offers breathtaking panoramic views, especially during the fall when the foliage turns into a tapestry of vibrant colors.
For those seeking a more immersive nature experience, camping is available in the national forest, allowing visitors to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and reconnect with the great outdoors. The night sky in Muse is particularly impressive, with minimal light pollution, providing stargazers with a clear view of the stars and the Milky Way.
Although Muse may not offer the bustling nightlife or extensive cultural attractions of a big city, its charm lies in its simplicity and the opportunity it provides to enjoy the quiet and beauty of rural Oklahoma. It's a destination that invites travelers to slow down, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and appreciate the natural world in all its splendor.
