The Sugar Chalet welcomes you to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina! Nestled high atop Sugar Mountain, this thoughtfully designed four-bedroom home offers both privacy and convenience—just 4 miles from the ski resort, making it the perfect home base for year-round adventure.
Inside, you’ll find a spacious open-concept layout connecting the kitchen, living room, and dining area—perfect for gathering and relaxing together. The main-level master bedroom features a king bed and a private ensuite bathroom with heated floors, a custom tiled shower, and a soaking tub for ultimate comfort. Just down the hall, the laundry room adds convenience and even includes a dog washing station for your four-legged companions.
Upstairs, there are three additional bedrooms. Two offer king beds and share a full Jack-and-Jill bathroom, while the third bedroom includes a king and a full bed along with its own private bathroom—ideal for larger groups or families. The upstairs loft adds a fun touch, featuring a combo air hockey and pool table for kids (and adults) to enjoy.
Outside, the fully covered deck is perfect for dining, relaxing, and spending quality time together in the fresh mountain air. The fenced backyard provides added peace of mind for those traveling with pets, making it easy for everyone to feel right at home. For those traveling with Electric Vehicles, on-site charging is available with a dedicated Level 2 EV charger.
Sugar Chalet is just minutes from downtown Banner Elk! Enjoy easy access to charming local restaurants, cozy cafés, and boutique shopping. Outdoor lovers will appreciate the close proximity to ski resorts, Grandfather Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and neighboring towns such as Boone and Blowing Rock! Not to mention countless hiking trails, making it an ideal destination for both adventure and relaxation year-round.
Additional Notes:
- Sugar Chalet is located in an up-and-coming neighborhood with a few surrounding homes currently under construction. While we do not expect major disruptions, guests may occasionally notice light daytime noise or construction activity.
- Guests may park 1 vehicle in the garage. Directions will be provided prior to check in.
- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- Stayed with us before? Repeat guests returning to Sugar Chalet can receive a 5% room rent discount, not to be stacked with other discounts.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.
- This home is pet friendly. Two mature, well-trained dogs allowed with an additional $25 per day, per dog fee.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- Guests can enjoy easy to access roads leading to and from the home however, AWD or 4WD vehicles may be required in the winter months or in times of inclement weather. Chains may also be necessary.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- Please note that the distances shown on OTA’s map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.
