About the area
Corolla, North Carolina, is a serene and picturesque destination located on the Outer Banks, a 200-mile-long string of narrow barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina. Known for its laid-back atmosphere and stunning natural beauty, Corolla is a haven for beach lovers, history enthusiasts, and wildlife watchers.
The beaches of Corolla are wide, sandy, and often uncrowded, providing the perfect setting for sunbathing, swimming, and beachcombing. The waters are also ideal for various water sports, including surfing, paddleboarding, and kayaking. For those who prefer to stay on land, beach driving is a popular activity, allowing visitors to explore the coastline in a unique way.
One of the most iconic landmarks in Corolla is the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. This red-brick lighthouse stands tall at 162 feet and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area for those willing to climb its 220 steps.
