Here it feels like being high up in the mountains, even though it is only 40 minutes from the nearest town, Bellinzona. Faido, the largest municipality in the Leventina region, can be reached in 13 minutes by car: here you will find 3 supermarkets, a famous bakery that bakes typical products, 2 pharmacies, a butcher’s shop and a dairy selling local products. Among the most visited natural landscapes in the area are the marvellous Piumogna waterfalls, very popular with tourists in summer. For mountain lovers, there are many trekking routes to the peaks of Pizzo Pettine, Pizzo Molare, Pizzo Forno and Carì, famous for its popular ski area in winter, which can be reached in 15 minutes. Chironico, an important destination for climbers from all over Europe, is 25 minutes away: it is here that many sportspeople come to boulder in the Boulder Area created thousands of years ago.
