Norton Cottage, Hawkridge

Norton Cottage is a charming property set within the grounds of the West Hollowcombe Farm Estate, sleeping up to 4 guests across two bedrooms. The bedrooms are located on the ground floor, with the entrance opening into a spacious hallway. One bedroom has a king-size bed, while the other features zip-link beds that can be made up as twin beds or a super-king bed on request. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, one with a bath and separate shower, and there is also a further ground floor cloakroom. Wooden stairs lead up to a first-floor open-plan living space, which enjoys lovely views and includes a wood-burner, dining table and chairs, comfortable seating, a smart TV, and a well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. A basket of logs, kindling and matches is provided for the wood-burner in cooler months. Outside, the cottage has a patio area with a picnic bench and BBQ, overlooking a beautiful shared garden with dramatic moorland views beyond. Guests can also make use of a children’s play area with a climbing frame, wendy house and picnic table within the grounds. There is ample parking close to the cottage, and access to a shared laundry room with washing machine and dryer. Bed linen and towels are provided. GBP 20 of electricity and heating costs are included in the price, which is more than enough for a week-long stay, and electric heaters are fitted throughout. A cot, high chair and stair gate are available on request. Dogs are welcome, up to a maximum of two per booking, for a supplement of GBP 20 each. Stabling and paddock turnout for horses can also be arranged for an additional charge. The cottage is not suitable for those with restricted mobility or wheelchair users. Christmas is a magical time to visit, with the wood-burner roaring and cottages available to decorate as guests please.
