It’s a short stroll down a path with native trees to iconic Plage de Palombaggia, where pine-fringed shores and shallow crystalline waters invite days by the sea. One of southern Corsica’s best known beaches (and most popular, especially in the height of the summer), you’ll find restaurants and beach clubs open seasonally, a wonderful way to dine al-fresco in the most incredible setting.
Close by, discover the white sands of Plage de Tamaricciu (550m) or drive a little further to the curved bay of Plage Santa Giulia (8km), both offering superb spots to swim and sunbathe. For a scenic day out, venture south to the horseshoe-shaped Plage de Rondinara (20km), a favourite for its calm waters and natural beauty.
The vibrant harbour town of Porto-Vecchio (9km) offers a lively contrast to the coast. Wander the cobbled streets of its charming old town, browse boutiques, sip coffee in atmospheric squares or explore the marina’s waterfront restaurants. Venture further to the clifftop citadel of Bonifacio (29km), perched dramatically above the sea, where narrow lanes, historic landmarks and panoramic viewpoints await – Bonifacio is considered one of the most enchanting towns on the island.
Southern Corsica is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy horse-riding through the countryside, take to the trails on a quad bike or dive into the array of watersports on offer nearby. Charter a boat or join a guided trip to explore hidden coves and islets, or tee off at Golf Club de Lezza or the prestigious Golf de Spérone (32km). Inland, lace up your boots for hikes through the pine-scented Forêt de l’Ospédale or challenge yourself with the rugged trails around the Bavella peaks, renowned for their dramatic rock formations and sweeping views.
Whether you crave beachside bliss, cultural discovery or outdoor adventure, Villa Mare e Luce places you at the heart of it all, in a setting that captures the beauty and natural splendour of Corsica’s south-eastern coast.
