Tucked into the peaceful Snowline Community in Glacier, Washington, Skywood is a thoughtfully restored mid-century modern retreat designed for quiet mountain escapes. With warm textures, vintage character, and views of the surrounding forest canopy, this two-bedroom cabin offers a cozy yet refined basecamp for exploring the Mt. Baker area.
Backing onto a peaceful ravine and framed by towering evergreens, the home feels immersed in nature. On clear days you’ll even catch glimpses of Church Mountain rising above the trees—a beautiful reminder that the mountains are never far away.
Inside, Skywood blends retro charm with modern comfort. The space is styled with rich browns, deep blues, and natural wood tones, accented by glossy green cabinetry and custom lighting that gives the cabin its distinctive personality. The living room centers around a wood-burning fireplace, creating the perfect place to gather after a day of skiing, hiking, or exploring the North Cascades.
For an extra layer of relaxation, the home features a built-in indoor sauna—ideal for warming up after a winter day on the slopes or unwinding after a summer hike.
Sleeping Arrangements:
The cabin comfortably sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms:

Location
Skywood is located in the Snowline Community, just up the road from the restaurants and shops of Glacier, WA and about 35 minutes to Mt. Baker Ski Area. From skiing and snowshoeing in winter to hiking, mountain biking, and river adventures in summer, the surrounding wilderness offers year-round mountain experiences.
After a full day exploring, returning to the quiet of Skywood—surrounded by trees, with the fire going and the sauna warming—is part of what makes a stay here so special.

No Children Under 5 years of Age due to the open log stairwell
Nature: This home is located in a rainforest near the base of a mountain. We have critters both large and small that we share the land with. From Ants to bats, mice and raccoons to Bears and Bobcats, we do everything possible to keep them outside. Please do not leave food or garbage outside, as it looks like a free meal for the wildlife.
Technology:WiFI and Cellular Service: Due to the remote location, cable TV and cellular service are not available. The home has free fiber optic WIFI and a smart TV for streaming your favorite subscription channels. There’s also cell phone service near Mt Baker ski area. **Internet service in the Mt. Baker area experiences intermittent outages and these circumstances are beyond our control. Our area is limited to one service provider and we appreciate your understanding with the following policy: We are unable to offer a refund for accommodations based on WIFI outages, speed or disruptions.
Weather: The mountains provide us with so much to offer, but predictable weather is not one of them. Please be prepared for all types of severe weather from excess heat in the summer to heavy rains in the Spring & Fall and Snow and Ice in the winter. It is highly recommended that you bring a 4-wheel or All wheel drive vehicle in the winter. Due to the potential harsh weather, power outages and internet outages happen from time to time and are out of our control. We do not issue any refunds for loss of power or internet. Please prepare for all types of weather when visiting the mountains.
Groceries: Large grocery runs should be done in Bellingham (about 45 min away). There are a handful of small mom and pop grocery stops along Mt Baker Highway and we are happy to make recommendations. Restaurants are extremely limited and are not always open during the slower seasons. Please come prepared with provisions.
Gated Community / HOA: About Snowline Community Club
Snowline is a private gated community that borders the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest and is one of the closest communities to the Mt. Baker Ski Area. The community has numerous hiking trails both to Glacier and to the Nooksack River, a children’s playground and kickball field.
The HOA requires gate cards for guest access, has rules for quiet hours, leash laws and a no campfire policy. Parking is limited to the vehicles that fit in the driveway perpendicular to the road.
**Please note that your rental may have limited parking availability. Carpooling may be required. Parking is not permitted on roads within the Snowline, Mt Baker Rim, and Snowater Community. Any fines accrued by the HOA in regards to parking violations are the responsibility of the renter.**
Property Manager is required to register ALL vehicles that will be present on the property during your stay.
Pet Policy: DOGS only permitted (no cats or other pets) maximum 2 dogs allowed @ $35/per night
Pet Rules:
We love pets and are glad that you’re bringing your furry companion. We just ask that you please follow all of our guidelines, since this is another person’s home.
1. Pet fees must be paid in advance of Check in.
2. Maximum 2 Dogs allowed (no cats)
3. Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds (no exceptions)
4. Pets must be over the age of 1 year old.
5. Pets shall NOT be left unattended at any time for any purpose whatsoever or while you are at the ski area.
7. Any damage caused by pets will incur charges for repair or replacement of structures or furnishings and must be paid immediately.
8. Guests should prevent pets from producing excessive noise or continuous barking at a level that disturbs neighbors.
9. All guests agree to adhere to rules and regulations and county ordinances regarding leash laws, sanitation, and noise disturbances.
10. Any fines or violations will be charged to the guest.
