Ideally located for visiting Les Baux-de-Provence, Maison De Bois is a delightful holiday home with a private swimming pool set in its picturesque garden. Passing seemingly endless olive trees, you can be sipping coffee on a café terrace in Maussane-les-Alpilles within a 5-minute drive.
Maison De Bois enjoys a pretty setting overlooking a meadow and fields. The house has been tastefully decorated with neutral tones and touches of Provençal character alongside stylish furnishings and contemporary fittings. All five bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor, feature queen or king-size double beds and there are four modern shower rooms (three of them en suite).
Outside, sit back in the shade of the terrace or play boules by the olive trees accompanied by the sound of the trickling fountain. The swimming pool is set in the lovely garden with that gorgeous rural view and there are sun loungers and parasols for soaking up the sun. As evening nears, prepare family feasts on the barbecue or relax with friends and a good bottle of local wine.
The attractive village of Maussane-les-Alpilles is just 3km away, home to restaurants, little shops and a weekly market on a Wednesday morning. Les Baux-de-Provence, classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, is a joy to explore with its medieval lanes and historic château. Just 6km away, head there early to avoid the summer day-trippers!
Elsewhere across Les Alpilles, come across picture-perfect restaurants in Eygalières, try some of France’s finest olive oil in Mouriès and visit the bustling Thursday morning market in artistic Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
Avignon is also within easy reach or spend the day in Arles, perhaps combined with a drive through the landscapes of the Camargue. In the other direction are the charming antique stores of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the incredible beauty of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse alongside the vineyards, orchards, perched villages and magnificent scenery of the Luberon.
