Above the waves, you might like to ride a jet ski or take a boat out with the skipper – this can be booked on demand, so make sure you make sure of it. If you’re longing for a day trip, and why wouldn’t you be, when there is so much to see in Croatia, you can take a day trip to many wonderful islands including Lastovo, Mljet, Vis and Hvar. Let’s start with Lastovo. This is one of the most remote inhabited islands in the Adriatic Sea. If you want to feel like an explorer, you will certainly feel like you’ve stumbled across something unique and new here as if you’ve turned back the hands of time. Lastovo itself lays across a series of steep banks over a natural amphitheatre which overlooks fertile field land which faces away from the sea. This makes it quite different from many of its island neighbours, who make the sea the central point. Lastovo is a forested island – about 60% of it is covered. For wildlife lovers, you may see nests of falcons and hawks who patrol the area seeking food. If you want to snorkel, this is a great place to do so. This is one of the best spots for underwater sight-seeing. You might observe lobsters, crayfish, octopus, John Dory and Groupers. Now on to Mljet, truly a fantastic paradise. Here you’ll find a national park, the splendid Soline Bay and a vast sea belt. Seeking nature? Mljet will transfix you. Vis is a gorgeous beauty with nature that will astonish. It’s also home to Vis Town, where you can see the remains of the old city walls and public bath. The archaeological museum here is a great find for those interested in exploring the history of Roman artefacts. Finally, Hvar is known as the life and soul, being both a port and resort town.
