Westlands, Brendon Hill

Westlands is a welcoming two-bedroom cottage set on a working hill farm in rural Exmoor, offering a genuine taste of West Somerset countryside living. Sleeping up to 6, the property has one king size bed and one double bed, plus a sofa-bed and camp bed available in the living area for two further guests. There is a modern shower room, and the whole property is arranged on one level, with steps or ramp access (both with handrails) from the courtyard to the front door. The open-plan living area is filled with natural light thanks to its triple-aspect design and vaulted ceilings with exposed timber beams, and there’s a cosy wood-burning stove with logs provided. The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher and washing machine, making longer stays easy, and thoughtful touches such as quality linens, tea, coffee, milk and homemade cake on arrival (with bread and local eggs added for stays over three nights) add to the comfortable feel. Outside, guests have use of a private enclosed terrace beside a gently flowing stream, ideal for relaxing though supervision is needed with children and pets. A charcoal BBQ is available. The property sits directly on the farmyard, so guests may hear the everyday sounds of farm life, and a farm tour can be arranged on request to meet the pedigree sheep. Parking for one car is available directly outside, with additional secure parking nearby. Dogs are welcome for a supplement of GBP 15 per dog, though they should not be left alone in the property. The cottage is suitable for children, with a travel cot and high chair available on request. Heating, electricity and Wifi are included, and towels and bed linen are provided. Please note there are two other holiday properties on the farm, and an adjoining gate to the neighbouring cottage can be locked or opened depending on your group’s needs.
