Hedgehog Cottage, Wheddon Cross

Hedgehog Cottage is a cosy two-bedroom holiday cottage set on a working farm in a lovely rural corner of Somerset, sleeping up to 4 guests. On the ground floor you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher, a dining area, and a sitting room with Freeview TV, DVD player and a wood-burner for cosy evenings in, with an initial supply of logs provided. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, along with a family bathroom featuring a shower over the bath, toilet and hand basin. An external door from the first-floor hallway leads out to the garden. Outside, there’s an enclosed garden to the rear of the cottage, accessible from the upstairs hallway or around the outside of the property, though it should not be considered fully dog or child proof. A short forestry track leads from the garden, ideal for a brief dog walk. Parking is available directly outside the cottage. A shared external utility room provides coin-operated laundry facilities, used in common with the neighbouring Red Deer Cottage and Barn Owl Cottage. Oil-fired central heating, electricity and rural wifi are included, along with bed linen and towels, with beds freshly made up for your arrival. One well-behaved dog is welcome free of charge, though pets should be kept off furniture and out of the bedrooms, and should not be left unattended. As livestock graze the surrounding fields, dogs must be kept under close control at all times. The cottage is not suitable for guests with restricted mobility and has no wheelchair access. It is also decorated for Christmas and New Year stays, adding a festive touch during the season. Check-in is from 4pm, with departure by 9:15am, and a refundable GBP 200 security deposit is required.
