Keepers Lodge

Keepers Lodge is a charming rural retreat forming part of a carefully restored 16th-century Grade II listed thatched Devon longhouse, where historical character blends seamlessly with modern comforts. Rated 5 Star Gold by Visit England, this lodge sleeps up to 4 guests (plus cot) across two large bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. The open-plan living, kitchen and dining area is full of character, with exposed wooden beams and an original inglenook fireplace housing a wood-burning stove, plus comfortable sofas and a sizeable dining table, perfect for relaxing evenings and family meals. Upstairs, the master bedroom, "Luscombe Pine," features a grand hand-carved four-poster king-size bed, antique furnishings and an ensuite four-piece bathroom with both a shower and a bath. The second double bedroom, "Billy Down Pippin," has a vaulted ceiling, colonial-style furniture and its own ensuite three-piece bathroom. Outside, a private courtyard offers a hot tub and outdoor kitchen, along with a garden and patio area ideal for alfresco dining. The lodge sits within 20 acres of farmland and rolling hills, including a large pond, open fields and woodlands, offering wonderful views and plenty of space to explore, with a beautiful sunset backdrop in the evenings. Wi-Fi, heating and electricity are included, and towels and bed linen are provided. A cot and highchair are available, making this a suitable choice for families. There is ample undercover parking on site, with electric vehicle charging available for an additional fee. Please note this property is not suitable for those with restricted mobility and does not offer wheelchair access. Sorry, no dogs are permitted. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am.
