Dashel Cottage, Countisbury

Dashel Cottage is a newly converted detached property on an Exmoor hill farm, sleeping up to 6 guests across three bedrooms, each with its own en-suite shower room (no bath). There is one king-sized double bedroom downstairs, plus a large twin room (including a cot) and a further king-sized double upstairs, both also en-suite. A stair gate is provided, along with a high chair, making the cottage well suited to families. The large open-plan living area is bright and south-facing, with plenty of windows to enjoy the views, a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings, a dining table seating 6, and a comfortable sitting area with TV. The kitchen is well equipped with a free-standing fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave, electric double oven and hob, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, and a full range of cookware, utensils, crockery and glasses. Central heating (via biomass boiler) runs throughout, and logs and kindling are provided for the wood-burner in cooler months. Bed linen and towels are included, with non-feather bedding used throughout, and basic cleaning materials and toilet rolls are supplied. Outside, the enclosed, south-facing garden has a patio with table and chairs, accessed directly from the living area, and the cottage is surrounded by farm fields. There is level, step-free access from the parking area to the ground floor, with parking for 2 cars immediately behind the property and further space close by if needed. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at GBP 15 per dog per stay (maximum of 3, though 4 may be permitted on request if you get in touch with details of size/breed). Dogs must stay off the furniture and are not allowed upstairs, and must be kept under control around the farm’s livestock at all times. The property is suitable for guests with restricted mobility but is not wheelchair accessible. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are fitted throughout.
