This classic Carolina beach house enjoys the best parts of the island - living under the canopy of the live oaks on a corner lot in Cape Fear Station and within a short walk to putting your toes in the sand. It is the perfect place to enjoy the peace and serenity of the island after a day at the beach, pools or on the golf course. In the morning, your coffee will be accompanied by a chorus of the island bird residents as they delight in the cool Atlantic breeze coming across the island providing both privacy and a distinct sense of closeness to nature. This lovely home offers a total of FIVE porches, three of which are screened - There is also a deck for sunbathing during the day and stargazing in the evening. The home was updated and refreshed in 2022 with new custom home furnishings, flooring, painting, lighting. and other amenities to make your vacation a five-star experience. The main level of this reverse open-floor plan home allows everyone to socialize with an XL fully stocked kitchen, comfortable great room, and dining for 10, all with open access to both a screen porch and an open porch for grilling and entertaining. The kitchen is fully equipped for the gourmet cook in your group to make great memories with delicious meals and they will be delighted to find separate wine and beverage refrigerators in addition to the main refrigerator, and spacious granite countertops. The great room is the perfect gathering space anchored by a sectional couch with generous seating, family games, puzzles, books, and flat screen TV hidden away in a cabinet above the fireplace. Adjacent to the great room and kitchen is the dining area that comfortably seats 10. Vaulted ceilings in the main gathering areas allow wonderful lighting throughout the day. Step outside onto the expansive upper deck to extend your living and entertaining space. This home has two master bedroom suites, one on each floor- the perfect setting for two families. Both spacious primary bedroom suites include a king-size bed as well as private screened porch access. The ensuite master baths feature a Jacuzzi soaking tub and oversized shower with body sprays giving a spa sense of relaxation. The third bedroom located on the first floor has a queen-size bed with private bath while the fourth bedroom has something for the children to enjoy - a full-sized bed and a twin bed with twin trundle – enough beds to be able to accommodate four happy campers. All four bedrooms include private full baths, fans, and flat screen TVs. An enclosed outside shower sits between the two-cart garage and back entrance, allowing a fun way to get cleaned up after a great day at the beach and the laundry room/mud room is located on the first floor as you enter for carefree upkeep while on vacation. Two golf carts (one six-seater, one four-seater), bikes, beach toys, umbrella, beach chairs, and Weber gas grill available. Highchair, pack n play, and safety gate are also available for use during your stay. We have a professional property management team who live full-time on the island to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. A prime location on Bald Head Island, 606 Wash Woods Way, provides close access to the beach, market, coffee and ice cream shops, and dining venues. A very short cart ride gets you to the new BHI Club Aquatic Center which features 4 new tennis courts, pickleball courts, a playground, short-grass recreational area, workout facility, multiple swimming pools and water slide, croquet course, casual and fine dining and, of course, the George Cobb designed, award winning 18-hole golf course. Bald Head Island is only accessible by boat or a ferry, which departs frequently out of Southport, NC. Southport is 40 minutes from the Wilmington, NC (ILM) airport. Include a tram ride to the house with your ferry ticket, which can be purchased online at or on the Bald Head Island Ferry app. Climb to the top of “Old Baldy,” which is the oldest lighthouse on the East coast. It was built in 1817 and originally commissioned by Thomas Jefferson. Hike and wind your way around live oaks hundreds of years old and through the nature paths that Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers used in the ancient Maritime Forest. An upscale grocery market, spa, and shopping area is a short golf cart ride away. Discover the Bald Head Island Conservancy at the end of South Beach, where you can learn about the island’s wildlife. Sign up for classes, including the popular evening “turtle walks” to search for and observe nesting Loggerhead Turtles and if your timing is right, even watch their hatchlings heading to the ocean for the first time! Bald Head Island is on one of North Carolina’s southernmost cape islands - Cape Fear.
