At Roadrunner Trail, the wildlife is part of the charm. Set in a quiet Joshua Tree valley between the village and the national park, this comfortable three-bedroom home offers sweeping mountain views, a pool, and a hot tub. Watch for the four roadrunners that frequent the property, spend the afternoon outside, and enjoy the slower pace of desert life with family or friends.
Roadrunner Trail is the kind of place where you can leave your plans open and see where the day takes you. Large windows bring the surrounding hills into the living room, while an open kitchen and comfortable gathering space make it easy to cook, relax, and spend time together. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with leather reclining seating, warm wood finishes, and plenty of natural light.
Outside, the landscape takes center stage. Rocky mountains rise beyond the property, desert wildlife wanders through the brush, and the pool and hot tub provide an inviting place to unwind after exploring Joshua Tree. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and room for six guests, the home is well suited to families and small groups who want a comfortable base close to the national park.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The outdoor spaces are made for enjoying the desert at your own pace. Take a swim with the mountains as your backdrop, settle into the hot tub after a day exploring the park, or stretch out on the patio with a book and enjoy the quiet.
A handmade loveseat and meditation bench offer places to sit and take in the landscape, while an outdoor table for four and a pellet grill make it easy to enjoy meals outside. As daylight softens, the surrounding hills take on warmer colors and the open valley becomes an especially peaceful place to spend an evening.
Keep an eye out for the property’s smaller residents. Four roadrunners regularly visit, along with quail and rabbits, including a familiar split-eared bunny known as Bobo. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but watching the desert come to life is one of the pleasures of staying here.
Guests are welcome to explore the lower valley of the property, from the road to the first outcropping of boulders. The yard is not fenced, so children and dogs should be supervised outdoors.
-Living Area-
The living room is bright and comfortable, with generous windows framing the mountains and bringing the surrounding landscape into view. It’s an especially lovely place to watch the early morning light move across the hills.
A large leather reclining sofa, matching armchair, and smart TV make the room equally inviting for an afternoon break or a relaxed movie night. The open connection to the kitchen keeps everyone together, whether you’re preparing a meal, watching television, or simply enjoying some downtime between adventures.
-Kitchen and Dining-
The kitchen is set up for easy meals at home, with dark wood cabinetry, a spacious central island, and the everyday cookware, dishes, and appliances needed for a comfortable stay.
Start the morning with coffee while breakfast comes together, pack a lunch before heading into Joshua Tree National Park, or prepare dinner with friends gathered around the island. The open layout makes cooking feel like part of the gathering rather than a separate activity.
For meals outdoors, the pellet grill and four-seat patio dining area offer another way to enjoy the desert setting.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Roadrunner Trail accommodates up to six guests across three bedrooms with four beds in total. Each bedroom is designed with comfort in mind, featuring a memory foam mattress, cozy blankets, and blackout curtains to help everyone sleep well after a day in the desert.
The primary bedroom features a king bed, smart TV, and private ensuite bathroom, providing a comfortable retreat from the shared living spaces.
The two additional bedrooms offer flexible sleeping arrangements for family members or friends. A second bathroom serves the home, and the bathrooms include a bathtub and shower combination for added convenience.
Whether you’re visiting for hiking, wildlife watching, or a few quiet days away from your usual routine, Roadrunner Trail offers a relaxed and welcoming place to settle in and enjoy Joshua Tree.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group.
