Sliding glass doors connect the main house to the covered pavilion and expansive backyard, making it easy to move between cooking, lounging and enjoying the outdoors. Start the morning with a friendly match on the pickleball court before the afternoon settles into a slower pace around the private pool. Built-in loungers let you relax right in the water, while fountains, a spacious stone surround and four chaise loungers make it easy to spend a few hours doing very little at all. The covered wood pavilion brings everyone together between swims, with comfortable lounge seating, an outdoor dining area and a propane BBQ for leisurely lunches or dinner under the desert sky. For a little relaxation, warm up in the barrel sauna, stretch out in one of the hammocks or enjoy the built-in hot tub. As evening arrives, gather around the propane fire pit, settle into a chair beneath the pavilion’s string lights or enjoy one last soak in the hot tub. With cornhole and other outdoor games available, there’s always an opportunity for a little friendly competition. The backyard is fully fenced, but the pool no longer has a separate safety gate, so children must be closely supervised. Please also note that the surrounding boulders carry sound toward neighboring properties. Outdoor music is not permitted, and guests are asked to keep outdoor activities peaceful and respectful. -Living Area- After a day of swimming, hiking or exploring Joshua Tree, the living room offers an inviting place to come back together. Exposed ceiling beams and rich leather sofas give the space a comfortable, lived-in character, while the fireplace and wall-mounted TV set the scene for a movie night or a relaxed evening catching up. The generous seating arrangement makes conversation easy, whether everyone is sharing stories from the day or enjoying a quiet morning before heading outside. For guests mixing a little work with vacation, a dedicated workspace and high-speed Wi-Fi make it easy to catch up on emails or take care of business before returning to the fun. -Kitchen and Dining- Bold patterned tile, a wood range hood and woven pendant lights give the kitchen a personality of its own. The spacious island, topped with dark stone and lined with leather stools, naturally draws everyone together, whether you’re preparing a big breakfast before heading into the park or keeping the cook company over a glass of wine. The fully equipped kitchen includes cookware, dishes, utensils and everyday essentials for preparing meals at home, along with a Keurig coffee maker for easy mornings. Gather around the round dining table for dinner, or take your meal outside to the covered pavilion, where the BBQ and outdoor dining area make cooking and eating together part of the vacation. -Bedrooms and Bathrooms- With five bedrooms, six beds and three full bathrooms, Boulders Beyond comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms are located in the main house, while the detached guest house provides a fifth bedroom and private bathroom. Bedroom 1 is the primary suite, featuring a king bed and ensuite bathroom with a double vanity and glass-enclosed shower. It’s a comfortable retreat for guests who appreciate a little extra privacy. Bedroom 2 features another king bed, framed by a sunburst headboard and woven pendant lights, with a wall-mounted TV for winding down before bed. Bedroom 3 offers two queen beds, making it a great option for friends or siblings sharing a room, while Bedroom 4 has a queen bed with bedside lighting and a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Bedroom 5 is located in the detached guest house, with a queen Murphy bed, rattan headboard, its own exterior entrance and a private full bathroom featuring a patterned tile shower. It’s an especially convenient arrangement for couples or guests who prefer a little independence while still enjoying the property together. The main house has two bathrooms, including the primary ensuite, while the guest house contains the third full bathroom. -Game Room- When it’s time to trade the sunshine for some indoor competition, head across the yard to the detached guest house. Here, a dedicated game room brings together a pool table, shuffleboard and foosball, giving friends and families another place to spend time together. Challenge someone to a game of pool, organize a foosball tournament or settle a friendly rivalry over shuffleboard. With the game room separate from the main living areas, part of the group can keep playing while others relax by the fireplace, enjoy the hot tub or call it an early night. -Surrounding Area- Downtown Joshua Tree is right nearby, with locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, boutiques and the weekly farmers market. Head into Joshua Tree National Park for sunrise hikes, scenic drives, rock climbing and sunset walks among the Joshua trees and giant rock formations. Old Town Yucca Valley has vintage shops and restaurants, the Integratron offers sound baths, and Pioneertown hosts live music most nights. Then come home as the boulders catch the last light and the desert sky fills with stars. The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies. A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed. The roads leading to Boulders Beyond are paved. The property has a dirt driveway, with parking in front of and beside the house. -Noise and Outdoor Use- The surrounding boulders amplify sound and can carry voices toward neighboring homes. Outdoor music and external speakers are not permitted at any time. Please keep conversations and outdoor activity peaceful and respectful. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. Parties and large gatherings are strictly prohibited. Unauthorized parties may result in a $500 charge, while noise violations may result in fines of at least $1,000. -Pool and Hot Tub Safety- Please shower before and after using the pool or hot tub, and rinse away dirt, oils, lotions and other products before entering the water, as they affect water quality and can cause discoloration. Additional cleaning or maintenance charges may apply if the pool or hot tub is left excessively dirty. Please avoid entering the pool or hot tub immediately after service, as chemical levels may be higher than usual for a short time. Children under 14 must be accompanied and actively supervised by an adult at all times. The pool’s separate safety gate has been removed, so close supervision is essential throughout the backyard. Proper swimwear is required, and street clothes and denim are not permitted in the water. Diving, jumping, running, rough play and excessive splashing are prohibited, as are large flotation devices or toys that may obstruct other swimmers. Food, alcohol, drugs and glass containers are not allowed in the pool and hot tub area, and pets are not permitted in the pool or hot tub area. -Pool Heating Fee- Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival, as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you’d like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours’ notice to heat the pool. ► $350 first night, $250 each night after During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis. -Hot Tub Heating- No fee to heat the hot tub! Please note that because the hot tub is an in-ground hot tub, it is not heated constantly in order to conserve energy. It will take around 30 minutes to heat to 104 degrees from ambient temperature. -Pool and Hot Tub Service- The pool and hot tub are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician’s busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard. -Pet Policy- We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Many services can come directly to the house, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable stay! -Wildlife & Safety- The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert. -Security Camera- For your security, there is an exterior camera located at the driveway, which monitors arriving vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the pool and hot tub areas. -Cell Service- Cell phone coverage in the area may be limited or unavailable depending on your carrier.
