-Outdoor Amenities-
The landscape is what makes Whistling Rock so distinctive. Massive rock formations rise beyond the house, creating a dramatic backdrop for an outdoor living area designed to be enjoyed throughout the day.
Begin on the meditation and yoga deck, where the surrounding boulders provide a peaceful setting for stretching or simply sitting quietly. Back at the house, the long swimming pool extends from the patio toward the rocky hillside, with loungers for settling in between swims. The hot tub offers another way to enjoy the scenery, especially as the desert begins to cool.
The covered pergola brings the comforts of an outdoor living room to the patio. Motorized shades provide relief from the afternoon sun, while built-in heaters make the space inviting on cooler evenings. A custom BBQ station and outdoor dining area encourage leisurely meals without leaving the property.
When darkness falls, gather in the Adirondack chairs around the built-in propane fire pit. With 10 acres of natural desert surrounding the home, there’s plenty of landscape to appreciate without going far. Please note that the property is not fully fenced.
-Living Area-
The main living area is sophisticated without feeling formal. A comfortable sectional anchors the space, while an authentic Eames lounge chair and ottoman offer a particularly inviting spot to read, relax or take in the view. Pale finishes, natural wood accents and carefully chosen furnishings allow the architecture and surrounding landscape to stand out.
High clerestory windows bring daylight into the room, and broad sliding glass doors frame the boulders and connect the living space to the patio. The open layout keeps everyone connected, whether relaxing on the sofa, sitting down for a meal or preparing something in the kitchen.
A dedicated workspace provides a convenient place to catch up on emails or work remotely without taking over the dining table.
-Kitchen and Dining-
The kitchen pairs clean contemporary design with the practical details needed for cooking together. Light wood cabinetry, open shelving, stainless steel appliances and a generous island with bar seating make it easy to prepare meals while remaining part of the conversation.
You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, oven, stovetop, dishwasher, cookware and coffee maker, along with the essentials for preparing and serving meals.
Just beyond the island, a long wooden dining table sits beneath sculptural pendant lighting, with views toward the pool and surrounding rocks. It’s an inviting place for a shared breakfast before exploring the desert or a relaxed dinner that carries on well into the evening.
For meals outdoors, the custom BBQ station and shaded dining area offer an equally appealing alternative, especially when the weather invites everyone to stay outside.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Whistling Rock accommodates up to eight guests across three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The sleeping arrangements are particularly well suited to two couples traveling together, families with children or friends who appreciate having their own space.
The two primary suites each feature a king bed, high ceilings and sliding glass doors opening directly onto the patio. Both suites offer indoor and outdoor showers, allowing guests to enjoy a refreshing open-air rinse with views of the surrounding desert landscape. Natural textures, soft bedding and restrained furnishings create restful spaces that feel connected to the outdoors.
The third bedroom takes a more playful approach, with two bunk beds, a TV and floor cushions. It’s a welcoming retreat for younger guests, giving them a space of their own after a full day of swimming and exploring.
All three bathrooms feature contemporary finishes, with details including pale wood vanities, vessel sinks, rounded mirrors and glass-enclosed showers. The clean lines and thoughtful materials carry the home’s design language into these more private spaces.
