Welcome to Bear Necessities, a dreamy 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath hideaway tucked away on the scenic Beech Mountain. Brimming with mountain elegance and thoughtful touches throughout, this wood-accented cabin offers the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and natural wonder—your own private escape to the high country.
Step inside and feel instantly at home. The main level unfolds into a spacious, open-concept living area with tongue-and-groove ceilings, rich wood finishes, and soft, cozy furnishings, all inviting you to relax. The fully stocked kitchen is a delight for home chefs, featuring custom cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and a generous island with seating for three. Just beyond, a dining table for six sets the scene for shared meals and laughter-filled evenings. When you’re feeling competitive, be sure to gather your group at the table and grab one of the assorted games provided in the pantry.
The living room, centers around a warm gas log fireplace and a large TV—perfect for movie nights after a day on the slopes or trails. A convenient half bath and laundry room is located just off the main living space for added ease.
The main-level primary suite is a haven of tranquility, offering a plush king bed, a private TV, ceiling fan, and soft mountain light pouring in through the windows. The ensuite bathroom is set up for comfort with a custom tiled walk-in shower and granite double vanity.
Upstairs, the second bedroom is equally inviting, featuring two comfortable queen beds beneath charming tongue-and-groove ceilings. A ceiling fan stirs the mountain air, and the private ensuite bath with a tub/shower combo makes it a family-friendly space for guests of all ages.
Step outside and let the magic of the mountains surround you. The deck is your front-row seat to nature—complete with an outdoor dining table, gas grill, and a cozy fire table for crisp mountain evenings. As you sip your coffee or share stories under the stars, the gentle sound of a nearby creek and its cascading waterfall on the neighboring property adds an enchanting soundtrack to your stay.

- Bear Necessities is pet-friendly and allows 1 well-trained mature dog of any size with a pet rent of $25/pet per night. 2 mature dogs under 20 lbs each can be allowed if a request is sent to our reservations team.
- You’ll love the sounds of the creek and waterfall just across the street. The land around the creek is private property, so please only enjoy its ambiance from afar.
-Check In is after 4pm. Check Out is by 10am.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens are provided.
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- Absolutely NO SMOKING is allowed inside the home, on the deck, or on the property.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains are recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months, where inclement weather may be possible, should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
