With mountain views, plenty of space to spread out and inviting places to gather, it’s a home made for enjoying the desert together. Bright, open interiors and generous outdoor gathering spaces make Winters Haven especially well suited to families and friends traveling together. The spacious living room flows into a modern kitchen, while a large covered patio extends the social space outdoors. Warm wood floors, comfortable furnishings and relaxed desert-inspired details keep things welcoming and easygoing. The backyard opens toward the surrounding desert and distant mountains, with several distinct spaces for relaxing, gathering and enjoying the scenery. On warm days, cool off in the seasonal cowboy pool, set into a raised wooden deck with seating overlooking the landscape. Stretch out on a tanning chair, settle into a hammock or take a break beneath the shade of the covered patio. The patio is particularly inviting for groups, with a comfortable outdoor sectional, a generous dining table and a propane grill that makes cooking and eating outside part of the experience. There’s room to enjoy a leisurely lunch, catch up over drinks or challenge each other to a game of cornhole. As the desert air cools, the hot tub and sauna offer a welcome change of pace. Gather around the fire pit afterward, watch the colors fade over the mountains and enjoy an evening under the desert sky. The backyard is fully fenced, while the wider 2.5-acre property provides a peaceful open-desert setting. -Living Area- The spacious living room is designed for spending time together without feeling crowded. A generous sofa, leather accent chairs and large windows create a comfortable gathering place, while warm furnishings and a brick hearth with a wood stove add character to the bright, contemporary interior. It’s an inviting place to catch up after exploring Joshua Tree, settle in for a movie on the smart TV or enjoy a slower afternoon indoors. For guests who prefer a little friendly competition, the home’s ping pong table, foosball table and arcade game offer plenty of entertainment between desert adventures. -Kitchen and Dining- With its bright white cabinetry, generous countertops and oversized island, the kitchen makes preparing meals together feel like part of the vacation rather than a chore. Pull up a stool beneath the brass pendant lights while someone handles breakfast, or gather around the island to prepare dinner after a day outdoors. The fully equipped kitchen includes a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, cookware, dishes and essential utensils, along with a convenient coffee station. Indoor dining offers a comfortable place to gather for meals, while the shaded outdoor dining area is ideal for making the most of Joshua Tree’s beautiful weather. Whether you’re putting together a quick breakfast before heading out or preparing a full dinner for the group, there’s ample room to cook, serve and enjoy meals at your own pace. -Bedrooms and Bathrooms- With five bedrooms and three bathrooms, Winters Haven offers comfortable accommodations for groups of up to 12 guests. The bedrooms feature soft neutral tones, warm wood furnishings and understated bohemian touches that create a restful contrast to the day’s activities. The primary bedroom features a king bed, accompanied by two green velvet chairs and a small table that create a cozy reading nook. It’s a particularly pleasant spot to unwind with a book or enjoy a few quiet moments before bed. Bedrooms two and three each offer a queen bed, with thoughtful decorative details including woven mirrors and natural textures. Bedrooms four and five also feature queen beds, along with couches that provide additional seating and space to relax. The home’s three bathrooms feature clean, contemporary finishes, including a bathroom with a double vanity, illuminated mirrors and a beautifully tiled walk-in shower. For your arrival, a starter supply of towels, shampoo, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels and trash can liners is provided. The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies. A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed. Please note that Winters Haven is in a remote location, and the final stretch to the home is on dirt roads, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms. Some spots on the dirt road may be difficult for low-riding cars. -Cowboy Pool- The pool at Winters Haven is a cowboy pool, not an in-ground pool. The cowboy pool is drained and unavailable for guest use during the winter months (November through March) to prevent the filter from freezing and breaking. -EV Charger- The EV charger is Level 2, type J1772, 50 amps. Teslas need the SAE J1772 charging adapter that comes with the car by default. -Parties and Gatherings- Parties and large gatherings are strictly prohibited at this house. Failure to follow this policy will result in a $500 fine. -House-Specific Rules- ► No external speakers allowed. ► Please shower before and after using the hot tub and cowboy pool, and rinse off oils and lotions before entering. No pets of any kind in the hot tub or cowboy pool, and no alcohol near the water. Please heat the hot tub with the cover on, and do not add hot water from the stove, as it will damage the hot tub. Keep the covers on and secured after use; they are for insulation only, so please do not stand or sit on them. Children must be supervised at all times. Please avoid the hot tub immediately after service, when chemical levels are higher than usual for a short time. -Pool and Hot Tub Service- The hot tub and cowboy pool are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician’s busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard. -Pet Policy- We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Many services can come directly to the house, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable stay! -Wildlife & Safety- The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert. -Security Camera- For your security, there is an exterior camera located at the gate, which monitors vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the cowboy pool and hot tub areas. -Cell Service- Cell phone reception at the property is limited and varies by carrier.
