Head upstairs to the Top Level which has a Pyramid Bunk room for the kiddos as well as the Laundry and a Full Bathroom. Take the steps up to the Loft Area where you’ll find the privacy of the King Master Bedroom with a Jacuzzi Tub and access to a Private Deck Area where you can relax with a cup of coffee in the morning or find some peace and quiet as you watch the stars appear in the brilliant blue sky of an Outer Banks evening.
If you think Grateful Duck’s proximity to the Atlantic Ocean is its main attraction, you haven’t seen the spectacular sunsets that take place over the nearby Currituck Sound. The Port Trinitie neighborhood features a community dock and gazebo on the nearby shoreline of the sound, where you can capture some of the most stunning sunsets on the entire Outer Banks. Here you’ll also find a launch site for kayaks, so you can journey out into the shallow waters of the sound for an afternoon of scenic adventure and a little peace and quiet during your stay.
Hit the bubbly Hot Tub for some rest and relaxation after spending the day surfing, kayaking, or standup paddleboarding. Or, grab a glass of wine and some great company, and have a seat on one of Grateful Duck’s spacious decks, which boast privacy from the neighbors and serve as an excellent spot to watch the sun sink slowly into the still waters of the sound as evening falls. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better view of the thousands of stars that dot the sky than the one from the deck of this one-of-a-kind rental.
If you’re looking for a little more action during your escape to the beach, hit the community tennis courts, which are just around the corner from Grateful Duck. Or take a dip in one of the community’s two swimming pools—one on the ocean side of the island and one on the sound side—where you can cool off after time spent lounging on the sandy beaches or splashing in the surf. This vacation rental home also offers a basketball goal on the property for family and friends who want to engage in a little friendly competition during their stay, as well as an Xbox game system.
