Neighborhood
Ferragudo is a traditional fishing village, steeped in history where you can still see fishermen with their catch of the day. Within and around the cobbled streets and whitewashed cottages you will find the main plaza, Praça Rainha Dona Leonor, with many cafes and restaurants offering a variety of international cuisines. Across the river you have one of the biggest cities on the Algarve, Portimão and the beautiful beach of Praia Da Rocha. If you are looking for a little more adventure and night life, then this is where you need to be with its many bars and restaurants that are open till late.
You are around a 10-minute drive to the popular resort of Carvoeiro and some of the best Golf courses on the Algarve. Should you want to explore the Algarve or simply relax this is a great place to be based. Even though, there is public transport and a bus stop close by we do recommend you hire a car.
Transit
From Faro airport you can get to the apartment in 50 minutes by car and 90 by public transport. The beach is within walking distance.
The best way to travel the Algarvarian coast is by boat or car. If you really want to explore the area , a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier as public transport is limited but will also get you around. In Carvoeiro you don’t need any special transportation. You can easily walk through the village.
