To the south, the Butte aux Cailles district (15 minutes’ walk) has a charming, bucolic atmosphere, while to the south-west, the Asian quarter is striking for its exotic character, and further along the Seine, the BNF district attracts visitors for its exotic modernity. The Montparnasse district is also very close by, with its timeless and exhilarating atmosphere. The location is therefore at the crossroads of different atmospheres, with an appreciable authenticity and a calm that is hardly monotonous but, on the contrary, lively.
