Welcome to Broadstone Cottage!
Nestled in the heart of Valle Crucis, this historic 3-bedroom cottage invites you to step back in time while still enjoying modern comforts. Just a short stroll from the Mast General Store Annex, Valle Crucis Park, and the peaceful Watauga River, it’s a perfect spot for nature lovers and history buffs alike.
Two bedrooms are located on the main level - one with a queen bed, the other with a twin—and share a full bathroom. After a day exploring the High Country, unwind in the cozy living room by the gas fireplace. The sofa converts to a queen bed, offering additional sleeping space for two. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals at home and includes both a Keurig and drip coffee maker.
Upstairs, you’ll find a third bedroom with a king bed tucked beneath the sloped ceiling, along with another bathroom just down the hall.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the covered back porch with a view of the surrounding hills or relax by the fire on a cool mountain evening. Broadstone Cottage is an ideal retreat for families or friends seeking a peaceful getaway in one of North Carolina’s most beloved mountain communities.
Additional notes:
- Please note that due to the home’s age, it features some unique characteristics. The ceiling height on the upper level is just under 7 feet, so taller individuals may need to take care when moving through this area.
- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- The access road to this home is right beside of the Valle Crucis School, so during pickup or drop off times, access to the home may take a few moments longer than usual.
- This home is pet friendly for up to two mature, well-trained dogs with a $25 per day, per dog fee.
- This home offers relatively flat and easy access from the main road however, 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter months. It is your responsibility to come prepared for winter weather. No refunds are given if you are not prepared for winter weather.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
- Parking space for up to 3-4 vehicles
- Firewood for the outdoor fire pit may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week’s notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax.
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am
