As this home has a city imposed 30 night minimum stay allowing just one booking per month, it is preferred that all 30 nights of your stay be in the same month. Located just a 5 minute drive from downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, this recently updated 1268 square feet, 2-bedroom, 2-bath Comstock cottage features many of the unique historic touches that make Carmel architecture so unique. Nestled in a sunny spot surrounded by pines and oaks with distant peeks of Point Lobos and the blue Pacific over a canopy of trees. Pebble Beach, Monterey and Pacific Grove are just 10 minutes away by car; Big Sur is a scenic 45-minute drive.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted with complementary wine and cheese, tickets for a wine tasting at Scheid Vineyards’ tasting room in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa robes and beach gear.
Park at street level in the quiet residential neighborhood and descend a few steps to a courtyard with potted plants and surrounded by a privacy screen of shrubs. A table, 4 chairs, an umbrella and a grill are provided so you can enjoy a casual meal in this secluded setting.
The front entrance leads to a living room facing South-West with old growth paneling that comes alive with color with a bright sunset. Carpeting throughout the home is beige with a white vaulted ceiling and a gas burning Carmel-stone fireplace. A wall of windows reveals forest and distant ocean views. A long narrow deck runs along the back and side of the house with rocking chairs and an Adirondack chaise. A cozy grouping of furnishings in front of the fireplace includes a plush sofa/chaise combination that can become a queen bed, burl-wood coffee table, white leather loveseat, Asian chest end table and 55-inch flat-screen TV. A den, in coral and sea-foam blues, situated just off the front entrance overlooking the courtyard has an Asian-inspired desk and Asian wall art . Built-in shelving and cabinets hold diversified reading material, games and playing cards.
The freshly painted well-conceived kitchen will make gourmet meal preparation fun and easy. Features include a large skylight, stainless steel countertops and back-splash, stainless steel electric range, stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher. A bistro table for 2 provides a spot to sit and chat with the cook. Swinging doors lead to the adjacent dining room that opens to the living room but inhabits its own space along the wall of windows, providing diners a glimpse of the ocean over their meals. An oval wooden table with upholstered chairs can seat up to 8. Beautiful dishes, glassware, serving pieces and linens allow you to entertain in high style. Open the sliding glass doors that lead to the deck and enjoy cocktails at sunset with views of Point Lobos.
The 2 bedrooms both have white bead-board paneling and a palette of sea-foam greens, blues and sand. The master, with treetop views, has a king bed with Memory Foam topper (that can be made into 2 twins), a wicker dresser and bedside table, a 32" TV, and white shell lamps. Gaze out through the forest in a wicker chair. The coral colored master bath has a tile shower, white luxury towels and spa amenities. Both bedrooms include new high thread count luxurious linens. The 2nd bedroom has twin beds (that can become a king with Memory Foam topper) with sea-foam blue comforter, sand-colored duvet and coastal art. The 2nd bathroom has a tub/shower; its colors of blues and sea-foam green and sea-inspired accents makes you feel you are in an ocean resort.
One car can be parked in the attached garage, on-street parking is available for up to two modest sized vehicles. The garage contains a washer and dryer and everything needed for a trip to the beach.
