The Neighborhood
Perrys Farm by Tiny Away sits in the small village of Forth, and presents a mix of rustic charm and regional character, just 10 minutes from coastal Devonport. Among rolling hills and scenic landscapes, it’s an ideal spot for hiking, biking, and exploring nature. Forth's rich history is reflected in its heritage sites and local museums. The area is also renowned for its vineyards and wine-tasting experiences. Starting December 2024, enjoy horse trail riding with stunning views of the farms, sea, Forth River, and Mt. Roland. Our local recommendations: - The Tasmanian Arboretum is a 66-hectare botanical park in Northwest Tasmania and is ideal for enjoying temperate trees, wildlife, and native birds, including the best platypus viewing in Australia. - The Mersey Bluff Lighthouse, near Devonport at the Mersey River's mouth, is distinctive in Australia for its unique vertical red-striped day mark. Great for coastal views. - Gunns Plains Caves feature lofty chambers with stunning calcite shawls, formed by an underground stream housing Giant Freshwater Lobster, eel, and platypus in its sandy banks. - Hellyers Road Distillery is Australia's oldest continuously operating boutique single malt whisky distillery. Discover aged, award-winning malts and book a Whisky Walk tour to learn Hellyers Road's story, pour, and seal your own bottle. - Leven Canyon features Tasmania's deepest limestone ravine, viewable from Cruikshanks Lookout. Enjoy alpine vegetation, fresh air, and educational displays on well-maintained tracks. The Forth Pub has hosted several notable bands in 2024. The Dreggs performed on January 20, bringing vibrant coastal vibes (Coast To Canyon). The Jungle Giants entertained the crowd on June 1 with their energetic indie tunes (Bandsintown). On September 6, Jebediah and Magic Dirt rocked the stage, offering a night of classic Australian rock (Concerts50). These events underscore the Forth Pub's reputation as a premier live music venue in the region.
