This magnificent property stands, with its unique burgundy color, on a hillside above Positano’s bay.
It was born as a monastery and starting from the 18th century it was enriched by particular and precious objects coming from the middle-east and other countries of the world, given that Positano was situated along the main routes of spices, silk goods and products imported in the Old Continent. The merchants passing through here, not only left works of art, but also a mix of culture and traditions of ancient populations that is visible in the décor of this historic villa.
Since the beginning of the 20th century, Positano became gradually the shelter of many artists and one of these Edward Ghillausen, a Bauhaus member (the artistic and philosophic German movement) established in this villa together with his wife, where they lived until the year 2000, leaving a further hint of...

Payment & Cancellation - 90 Day Policy
Grace Period:
- Guests may cancel for free provided that: (1) reservation is canceled within 48-hours of reservation confirmation, and (2) reservation was confirmed at least 11 days before scheduled arrival.
Payment Policy:
- 90 days or less prior to arrival: Guests pay 100% at time of reservation.
- More than 90 days before arrival: Guests pay 50% at time of reservation (non-refundable), the remaining 50% will be charged 90 days prior to arrival.
- For guests paying with Points or Cash & Points: 100% of payment of both Cash & Points will be deducted at time of reservation, once booking is verified within 48 hours.
Cancellation Policy:
- 90 days or less prior to arrival: No refund issued, unless ‘Grace Period’ applies.
- More than 90 days before arrival: initial 50% payment is forfeited; the remaining 50% will not be charged.
- For guests paying with points more than 90 days before arrival: 50% of points taken are forfeited; the remaining 50% will be refunded within 5-10 business days.

- On Saturdays from 16:00 to 20:00 in high season; at 16:00 in low season (also on weekdays).
- Check out: By 10:00 am in all seasons.
- Damage refundable deposit:€ 10.000, to be paid prior the check in (pre-authorisation on credit card), the entire amount will be returned at the end of the stay if no damage to the property occurs.
- Upon arrival, an additional deposit of Euro 2.000 is required to be paid exclusively in cash to the manager / butler of the building for food, drink and other services not included in the contract.
- If the final expense account is higher, the difference will be requested; if, conversely, it should be less than the deposit, the same will be promptly reimbursed.
- City tax: from 1st April to 31st October € 2,50 per person (from 10 years onwards) per day.
