Accessible via a 25-minute ferry from Zadar, the island feels worlds away from the mainland crowds, with only 2,000 residents and an atmosphere of calm and seclusion. Pasman, part of the Zadar archipelago, is famed for having the largest green surface among Croatian islands and some of the clearest waters in the Adriatic, thanks to the constantly shifting currents in the Pasman Channel. The coastline is dotted with pristine sandy beaches, many with shallow waters ideal for families. Matlovac Beach, just 20 minutes away, is a local favourite known for its serene beauty. The island also holds historical intrigue, with Roman ruins and evidence of prehistoric settlement scattered across the landscape. A visit to nearby Zadar is a must.
