Just a 2-minute walk from your doorstep, unwind on the private deck and tiki bar overlooking the Platte River—perfect for fishing, sipping coffee, or enjoying the tranquil water. Wade into the shallows to cool off, or launch your kayak or canoe for a peaceful paddle. For an guided adventure, or drop off/pick up, enjoy a trip with one of the several nearby rental companies.
Within minutes, explore Northern Michigan’s best: hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, golf, spa treatments, outdoor movies, concerts, skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating. After a day of adventure, relax with a movie, board game, puzzle ,Wii Competition or whip up a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. For a night out, visit local restaurants, the tiki bar/igloo ice bar (at nearby Tipsy Canoe Rental & Brew), or the nostalgic drive-in movie theater.

Boat Launch: There is a boat launch in Frankfort 23 minutes (17 miles) away!
Bugs: Mosquitoes can be common in the summertime.
Cable: There is no traditional cable here, but there is a Smart TV with YouTube TV.

Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city. Large parties are prohibited, and we ask you keep the amount of guests to the number listed as being able to sleep.

Pets: 2 dogs - Property Manager currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. We only accept dogs at this property, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. We ask that you do not allow your dogs on the furniture at this location as well. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.
Privacy: There are other cabins in view streetside
Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. Snowmobiles are not allowed for use on the property.
