Home details
Comfortable Villa Belluina offers spectacular views over Lake Maggiore from its privileged hillside position, with a pretty village just a five-minute drive away. Perfect for a laid-back family holiday, the spacious villa is surrounded by Mediterranean gardens that everyone will enjoy spending time in.
There are four light-filled bedrooms at Villa Belluina, with most offering either direct access to the balcony terrace or into the tranquil gardens. Just as bright and peaceful is the open-plan living/dining space with doors that open onto the balcony terrace with table and chairs for al fresco dining. The room is equally a cosy place to spend evenings. A fireplace and large corner sofa make it the perfect place to unwind after family meals at the classic wood dining table.
At garden level is another table and chairs for enjoying meals whilst appreciating the villa’s idyllic immediate surroundings. Walk into the lush gardens and breathe in scents of the typical Mediterranean trees, plants and flowers that dot the lawns. The whole family will love cooling off into the large, private swimming pool with lake views, with nearby sun loungers and a sofa for relaxing with a drink.
Several popular towns are easy to reach from Villa Belluina, with Arona and Stresa both being less than 30 minutes away by car. Stresa has a lovely lakeside promenade and a welcoming town centre with a great choice of craft shops, cafes and restaurants.
Italy’s stunning Lake Maggiore area is not only well-known for its natural beauty, but also the variety of activities it offers. Dramatic hills and mountains have the ideal terrain for adventurous types looking for exciting hikes and bike rides. Ferry services from towns such as Stresa and Arona take you over to the beautiful Borromean Islands with their grand houses and gardens.
There’s plenty of history to discover in Stresa and Arona too, with more cultural sightseeing opportunities in places like the town of Cannobio with its attractive harbour.

Location:
Offering peace and tranquillity in a beautiful hillside setting, Villa Belluina is also in a great position for reaching other pretty spots along Lake Maggiore. And the nearest village is just a five-minute drive away, making it easy to stock up on essentials and even enjoy meals out. A wider range of restuarants and other amenities can be found in the nearby lakeside towns of Arona and Stresa.
As well as boasting many restaurants, bars, shops and a supermarket, Arona is a pretty place to spend a few hours exploring. There are pretty streets and piazzas to discover, as well as the town’s most-famous landmark – the enormous hilltop statue of San Carlo. Also hidden away in the hills and dotted throughout the town are little churches. One of the must-sees are the remains of Rocca, an ancient military fortress.
One of the most popular things to do in Stresa is take the cable car from the town’s lido up Mottarone mountain. As you ascend, the views over the town, Lake Maggiore and ski areas are simply breathtaking. Another highlight of the town is Villa Pallavicino, which features picturesque gardens and an exotic zoo.
You can also catch a ferry from Stresa to the beautiful Borromean Islands, which are individually known as Isola Bella, Isola dei Pescatori and Isola Madre. The latter is home to an impressive botanical garden, with Isola Bella being well-known for its 17th-century palace and gardens. Isola Pescatori’s most recognisable feature is its number of red-roofed fishermen’s houses.
Another great place to head out on a day trip is the lakeside town of Cannobio with many churches, palazzos and a harbour to admire.
