Whether it’s the immense size, the grandiose décor, furnishings and fittings, or the unrivalled location in the 16th arrondissement, this two-storey, six-bedroom apartment is an endless supply of superlatives. Taking up the entirety of the top two floors of its building, this extraordinary apartment has to be seen to be believed.
LIVING & DINING ROOMS
The entire top floor of the apartment (and building) is dedicated to an array of living spaces, both indoor and out. When you reach the top of the grand staircase – after wending past an elegant crystal chandelier – marvel at the sheer size of the wide-open space. On your right, you’ll find an informal lounge, with a piano and sofa looking out beyond the balcony. Further along, the primary living area is awe-inspiring: a bespoke hanging light fitting forms the centrepiece, around which a curving sofa sits in the sun pouring in from the nearby balcony doors. Between these two living spaces lies the formal dining table: expansive, elegant and with room for eight, it’s the perfect gathering place for a lavish dinner party with a view. On the ground floor of the apartment, you’ll find one more living room – much more intimate, it features velvet sofas, bookshelves and a large informal dining table for casual meals.
BALCONY
Extending out from the entire southern side of the top floor, a spacious balcony offers luxurious outdoor living and a remarkable view. Admire the Haussmannian rooftops all around, or marvel at the close-up view of the Notre-Dame d’Auteuil – a smaller ‘cousin’ of the Sacré-Cœur.
KITCHEN
Refined and modern, polished and elegant, the cavernous kitchen is a chef’s dream. Resplendent in shades of white, ribbed timber finishes and a curving countertop, once you enter this space you won’t want to leave.
BEDROOMS
The apartment’s ground floor is dedicated to its bedrooms, of which there are five. Walk down the hallway and find the first four bedrooms, two on each side of the corridor. At the end of the hall, the principal bedroom awaits: a queen-sized bed sits against a salmon feature wall. Opposite, wide doors open up to reveal a sprawling private terrace looking north. Upstairs, another small sitting room hosts a pull-out sofa opposite a small terrace.
BATHROOMS
With one exception, every bedroom on the ground floor has its own shower and wash basin. The principal bedroom boasts a spacious en-suite bathroom, complete with bath, walk-in shower, separate toilet and double wash basin. There is another full bathroom on this floor, featuring a bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. Additionally, each floor has a separate WC with a toilet and wash basin.
WE LOVE
There’s nothing we don’t love about this extraordinary home, but if we had to choose it would have to be the exceptional terraces looking over the rooftops of the 16th arrondissement – one on the ground floor, two upstairs.
